Coles, Cotchery and Berrian would be one of the top WR groups in the league.

I totally agree that this has to be the plan of attack this off-season. The offensive line has to be #1 on our list. I am glad to hear that Tannenbaum is preparing to break out the checkbook in the FA market. At least he sees it like we see it. I wouldn't write Suggs off just yet, but I think it is all but certain that Haynesworth is out fo play. Even though Pouha stepped up toward the end of the season which is great considering he was a third round pick, I still would like us to do something to improve our defensive line. NT still remains a toughy, IMO, based on what is out there.

I think you're definitely right about Suggs & Haynesworth being franchised. Believer it or not, we dont really NEED A. Samuel - because of his price tag & because our pass defense was top 10 vs the pass in 2007 --- & thats without a pass rush of any kind.

The O-line should be primary focus in the offseason. Stacey Andrews, Jacob Bell or the Colts guys Jake Scott & Ryan Lilja. Mininum 2 of these 4 would be perfect -- most likely Andrews since we need the OT.

OLB, DT & WR in the draft w/the 1st 4 round picks

This is an unbelievably misleading statistic. The Jets defense, according to total yardage, will rank well for two reasons:

    1) Their rush defense was terrible. There was no need for opponents to throw.

    2) Opponents were almost always ahead, and thus were running the ball more often to keep the clock moving.

If you actually use a meaningful statistical metric, such as DVOA, the Jets pass defense ranked only twentieth in the league. They need help EVERYWHERE.

The Jets secondary is not a huge concern at all. At the same time it is not the best either. Our Pass D rank is not something that was really earned by us. It was like many others have already stated.. Teams had no real reason to pass on us since our run game was awful. Simple as that. You can believe it or remain blinded by retarded stats, but that is the truth of the situation.

LG, RT, NT, ROLB, RDE, LOLB, LILB, RG then think about WR, QB, FS, etc.

The Jets have so much work to do in the trenches at this point that they can't afford to look anywhere else until they've managed the problem. Clemens won't succeed without major help on the offensive line, neither will D'Brick. Harris will be worn to a nub by midseason next year if the defensive line is not improved.

I dont think we need to upgrade both OLB spots(BT will be here thanks to the contract whether he performs or not). Also we have to adress WR before its too late. It isn't as high of a priority - but it can't be ignored if the value is there.

    Alas, it is true.

The Jets ranked 28th this year in passing attempts per game defensively (29.4), so we never got passed on in comparison. And we were 13th in the league in completion percentage (61.5). So, while the opposition rarely had to throw in comparison with the rest of the league, when they did pass, they still had pretty good success completing them. A lot of the teams in the top ten of passing defense share similar positions with us. Miami, Chiefs, Broncos, and Raiders all are in the top ten in allowing the least amount of passing yards, but each team averaged less than 30 pass attempts per game. The median number is about 33 percent.

But, in watching the games, it is hard not to be impressed by Revis holding his own against some of the top tier WRs (Moss, TO) most recently Dwayne Bowe, who is not top tier but is the top performing rookie. Also, Kerry Rhodes' continued excellence especially in the 2nd half of the season. I didn't have faith in Poteat near as much as I would like to have in a #2 CB, but he wasn't dreadful. FS has been an enigma all season. Our players at FS have strengths in different areas. So while you can say we never got thrown on because our running defense sucked, you can also say that maybe opposition chose not to attack our strength. It is also important to mention that our defense found themselves digging in more often than not, and would invariably get tired. Another note, is that we held Tom Brady to his worst game this season. And Maroney only had 104.

"The Bears are considered a long shot to bring Berrian back. After all, what attracts a receiver besides money? The quarterback. Asked if that would play a role in his decision, Berrian replied: "It might.''"

As for this comment I am sure he only said it so he would not look like he was just in it for the money. Chuck enough cash at anyone and they will play pretty much anywhere and why wouldn't they tbh?

I would say that if players work through high school and college without getting paid, once they've made millions, they would like to be on teams that can be considered contendas. Whilst still making millions on that contenda.
