Now that McNabb is likely to stay in Philly. Some sports guy (and I'd love to remember his name, so if anyone else saw it...) said Pennington would be perfect for the Vikes. Makes just enough plays, and with the running game and D, he'd be a really good fit. Alot like Brad Johnson.

Let's face it, unless the Jets revamp their "O" Line (Think they could've used Kendall and Mawae this year?) to take advantage of Thomas Jones, they're gonna need to make plays in the passing game, so they need a strong armed QB (maybe Clemens?).

Kendall said he read the writing on the wall when Mawae was sent away. Mangini doesn't want vets who'll not always toe the company line. He wants to build leaders who'll do so, ala Belichik.

That said, they might've been better with Kendall this year.

Would Chad have had more success this year if our o-line was better? Of course. Any QB will play better with a better o-line.

Minnesota has a great run blocking o-line but their pass blocking is not so great. That being said, it's better than the Jets and, if Chad went there, I'm sure he'd have some success. But he would still do the Chad things that eventually drove all us Jets fans over the edge (see Herm for a similar story).

Chad's time in NY is done and I hope we can either get something good for him or convince him to accept his back-up duties.

Mawae was getting injured more often. We replaced him last year, and now he gets injured for Tennesee. Our Current center has not missed a game, and is playing at or better then the level Mawae did before he left.

Pennington to the Vikes would be nice. I think he can still play, just not for the Jets anymore.

I saw Bill Cowher say something very much like that on the pregame show Sunday.

Unless someone blows us away with a 1st rounder or high 2nd, I hope we don't trade Chad. There aren't any good FAs available and we need to go into next season with a viable backup plan if Clemens doesn't work out.

He would be great for Minnesota but I don't see the Jets moving him unless they can get a pick in the top three rounds. Replacing him would be very difficult and we don't have a proven quaterback yet. I'm all for trading him but the problem is how do you replace him? We don't know yet what we have in Clemens since the offense around him was just awful. The bottom line this season was that no quaterback was going to do anything this year with our offense. We all wanted Clemens to play this year but in hind sight throwing him to the wolves behind that line may have done more to hurt him then help him down the road.

Chad would have career years in Minnesota. He'd be in a dome 10 times a year, and with that running game and his play action fake, he would be deadly.

I hope for his sake that's the place we trade him.

Im sure Chad would do well when called upon to THROW in Green Bay or Chicago come playoff time with whipping winds and ten degree temperature to deal with.

With the way the running game is set up, he wouldn't need to win games with his arm, just manage the game, something he's always done well.

I really like the Vikings too so I'd be elated if he ended up there. He'd have a tremendous offensive line, an elite RB, and a coach who is well-versed in the WCO.

8 in the box will make any Qb have to throw the ball. In todays Nfl how can we even defend a qb that can't throw the ball. At some point he has to throw the ball during the season. Good teams can stack the box and stop anybody.

I think he has more completions over 20 yards than Clemens with less attempts and also his long is 1 yard longer than Clemens and was on the money not underthrown. So, which is it is the great Kellen with the great arm not as good as noodle arm?

How many games did Chad win again? If our receivers could catch Clemens would be 5-3. The receivers let Kellen down in alot of games. Chad lost every one he was in with his last minute picks.

And if Clemens didn't take forever in the pocket even when he DID have protection, he may have been 5-3.

Your right he did take to much time in the pocket on those three plays he had protection. At the end of the day we had more chances to win games when Kellen played than Chad. If Kellen would have had a chance to play against the Eagles, Bills Twice, Bengals and Giants we would have won 7 0r 8 games this year.
