To be fair in TC and preseason this year Clemens flat out won the job but didn't get it because it was handed to Chad without any competition. I would love to see real competition for the starting QB next year and Simms, McCown or Culpepper would all be a good backup for Clemens who I would expect to win the job outright against any of them next year.

Clemens deserves nothing more than his shot to win the job in TC. Bring in a vet like Culpepper etc,Clemens will ride the bench again. Fine, people here are done with Chad. But what the hell has Clemens done to make anyone think for a second that he will be a good qb? Face it,the kid flat out sucked hard this year. He'll get his TC shot and mark my words, will not ge thte job. And if he does,we will have another shit year due to having no one better than him to go out there.

You do realize that the development of a Qb takes years and not a few games with a Revolving door O-line. If we had receivers who could catch Kellen could have beaten Baltimore and Washington. We are not winning it next year and he should be given the year to be evaluated properly with plays and players who fit his skillset.

Qbs that are going to be worthwhile will atleast show SOME flashes of potential. He has showed nothing at all. A team waiting for the development of one guy who has shown nothing,is ridiculous.

Chad won it and because of 'coaching staff reservations' about KC.

He showed promise in the Baltimore and Redskin games we lost because our receivers could not catch. Period. Vinny was horrible in the early years because of a lack of talent around him. Drew Brees and even Farve did not light it up in the beginning. How many years did it take for Peyton Manning to even get to the Playoffs. A few caught passes and Kc could have finished up 5-3. Clemens was handed a horrible team designed for a Qb with no arm and posession receivers.

Exactly right. Cut him and stop wasting the roster spot.

    That's the bottom-line

We need a genuine, real QB competition where each QB has a legitimate job to earn the job. Clemens certainly didn't do enough to earn it. Mangini is not like Herm, who all but gave the 2008 job to Croyle already. This offseason and training camp will be the litmus test for Tannenbaum and Mangini.

Why do you think that was? It was because Mangini has already written Cemens off. If you remember they had an open competition last year and Mangini didn't think it was necessary this year. (Of course I have written Manigini off too)

Hate the idea of just handing Clemens the keys to the car, even if the car is a Geo Metro.

Where are the folks that believe Darren McFadden could improve the play of the OL? Shouldn't they be here arguing that a good QB can improve an entire offense?

They need to bring in competition for Clemens be it through the draft of FA. Make him earn his job just like everyone else does. We're not talking about some special teamer here, we're talking about the QB.
