According to STATS LLC, LT D?Brickashaw Ferguson has allowed 11.75 sacks, which ties him for fourth in terms of the most sacks allowed by an offensive lineman. In case you?re wondering, Lions LT Jeff Backus has surrendered a league-high 15.50 sacks.

As a rookie last season, Ferguson finished with 10 sacks, according to STATS LLC.

Today, I asked Mangini if Ferguson has worn down in recent weeks, as he did late last season. Mangini, evidently not agreeing with my premise, gave a 217-word answer (a filibuster by his standards) in defense of the former first-round pick.

?You know, I?ve actually thought that Brick has made improvements throughout the course of the season,? Mangini said.

Maybe so, but Ferguson still hasn?t met expectations as the fourth overall pick in 2006. On Sunday, he?ll face Chiefs DE Jared Allen, one of the best pass rushers in the league - a chance for Ferguson to end on an upbeat note.

This was BEFORE the KC game

How do you think anyone would do with Adrien Clarke and Montgomery playing next to you?

D'Brick & Robertson have yet to play to the level of a top 5 pick which they both are. I thought D'Brick could be another Pace or Ogden, maybe he will, but he needs to start playing up to his expectations. Robertson drew comparisions to Warren Sapp, he has yet to live up to his hype as well.

My Brother in Law works for STATS in Chicago. He has to sit there and chart every minute detail of a game..... How many runs to the left side, passes by yards, tackles etc. It is such tedious work that one would just see an end get beat and chalk it up to the tackles fault and go on to the next play.

Also, on one of Jared Allen's sacks yesterday, he looped around and came up the middle to get Clemens. That shouldn't be counted against Brick but probably will be.

Also, when the QB gets pressure up the middle and then tries to scramble and runs right into the guy that Brick is blocking also gets counted. Teams have been attacking that left side because of the POS players we have at LG.

Hope for Jake Long to fall to us with the 6th pick, sign Fanaca, and slide D'Brick to RT.

Stats only tell you so much. While Brick hasn't been an Ogden or a Pace yet, he's started every game since he got here and has held his own more times than not. So you certainly can't call him a bust, that would be if he never made it on the field due to being hurt or just bad. As he gets older and stays in the league, he will get bigger and learn the ropes even more. I think he'll be fine, as others have mentioned, the line has to work as a unit. Stats for an individual O-lineman are pretty much useless.

    I'd rather not.

2 top 10 picks on the OL? Plus we're moving our pure LT to RT for...what reason?

So you want to take Brick away from where he is suited and put a guy into a spot where he is not suited. Good stuff

Jake Long is being projected in many places to be a better RT than a LT. He could anchor the other side of the line as an RT.

    QFT...

I'd be fine with the Long pick, provided we draft him as a RT.... Brick will NEVER have enough meat on his bones to be a good RT....

However, with a solid veteran LG in place, a line with Brick, Mangold, Moore and Long would go a long ways towards fixing our team's offensive woes...

A RT that early is a major reach pick, but our biggest need is CLEARLY the OL, and I wouldn't be as outraged as many if they did pick a RT in the top 10...

Any GM that spends top 6 money on a RT is a friggin Moron.

Forget it, the Jets aren't going to draft Jake long or move D'Brick to RT.

Draft Chris Williams in Rd 2 and you have a Stud RT that can step in right away and make Clement look like the piece of trash he is....end of story.

The future of the offensive line will be built around Brick, Mangold and Moore. Brick is going to get there, he has not played like a top 5 pick but he also has had to deal with the fact that the LG next to him hasn't done anything to help him. He has the goods we just have to be patient. Look at the guys he had to block this year week after week.

Just saw Peter King's All-Pro list for 2007. He put Jeremy Trueblood from TB as a starting OT along w/Joe Thomas of Cleveland.

Trueblood - a 2nd round pick from BC the year D'Brick was taken 4th overall.

Jeez, if it wasnt Marcus McNeil in 2006, its Trueblood in 2007!

In D'Brick's defense...Aaron Sears and Eric Steinbach are damn good guards.

I was saying it tongue in cheek...

It's not like D'Brick has been an exceptional LT, we need some place to put him. We should have just drafted Cutler.
