I know it doesn't mean anything for us necessarily, but it's interesting to see how the overall pick has fared in recent years. 2007 - S LaRon Landry 2006 - TE Vernon Davis 2005 - CB Pacman Jones 2004 - TE Kellen Winslow Jr. 2003 - DT Jonathan Sullivan 2002 - DT Ryan Sims 2001 - DT Richard Seymour 2000 - DT Corey Simon 1999 - WR Torry Holt 1998 - DE Grant Winstrom
And we've also got one of the best 3-4 lineman in the game there in Seymour. Very up and down group like most of the picks would be...
2007 - S LaRon Landry Too early to tell... 2006 - TE Vernon Davis Still early, but hasn't done anything yet. 2005 - CB Pacman Jones Bust. 2004 - TE Kellen Winslow Jr. Stud. 2003 - DT Jonathan Sullivan Bust. 2002 - DT Ryan Sims Bust. 2001 - DT Richard Seymour Stud. 2000 - DT Corey Simon Solid player for a while, then kinda fell off the map. 1999 - WR Torry Holt Stud. 1998 - DE Grant Winstrom Very solid player. Overall, yes it's sort of up-and-down but more good then bad. Good post idea.
Pacman is a bust because he is a mental midget and a scumbag off the field. In terms of actual on-the-field production, he was a Pro Bowl caliber player last year. I also think you might be a little harsh on Corey Simon, though his career did fall off pretty fast.
yea i agree with deviljets, pacmans not a bust, he was actually a very gifted player, top ten corner last year, nasty returner, overall playmaker....hes just a gangbanger and that got him fucked
Don't worry, the Jets will make the worst possible choice no matter who is there. They always do. Or maybe they will trade their entire draft to move up one spot and select somebody even worse then that. They have that history too.
