OK, so now, all you "I want the win guys", you've had about 30 minutes for this compelling, completely satisfying victory to sink in, by now the players are getting dressed and already considering their plans for the rest of the week. We have now fallen from the 3rd to the 6th pick in the draft. Still feel good about the victory over the Chiefs in the Toilet Bowl? Typical narrow minded Jets fans would relish this short sighted "victory"....it did nothing for this franchise except miss out on the best offensive tackle, defensive tackle, defensive end, quarterback and running back in the 2008 draft. Enjoy your victory beer!

think about it----WE MIGHT NOT EVEN COME UP WITH VERNON GHOLSTON.

this is all depending on whether or not atlanta wants to draft matt ryan at the third pick.

    MIA-Dorsey
    STL-Chris Long
    ATL-Run DMC
    KC-Jake Long
    OAK-Gholston (al davis loves athletes)
    NYJ-???????????????

    wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
looks like we may have to
    trade down

Someone will take a QB higher. Jets post-game just confirmed Jet pick sixth.

Cut it out. Those aren't the only 5. There will be a guy who has a huge combine who will move up to top 5.

    Miami
    St. Louis
    Oakland
    Atlanta
    KC
    NYJ

I'd expect Miami, Atlanta, or KC to take a QB. Then we'll take DMC, C. Long, J. Long, Vernon Gholston, or Glenn Dorsey. I don't care if he doesn't fit the scheme, if Dorsey's available at 6, move him to DE, and we'll do what we can from there.

And if all else fails, hopefully we can trade down.

Does anybody else realize how preliminary these mock drafts are? Alan Branch was supposed to be a top 5 pick at one point. DeWayne Robertson was a mid-late first round pick at this point. Things change.

It's not even the players, a high draft is a valuable commodity and would go a long way in trades. One step back to make two steps forward - see the Spurs with Tim Duncan

Yep. This is a pretty dumb arguement. 3rd vs. 6th is neglible at this point. this is a pretty stupid thing to be so enraged about.

D-Rob was a mid-2nd round pick heading into the combine. That's where the huge error occurred.

    Good point.

I would also be shocked if Miami doesn't trade down.

It's completely impossible to compare the NBA and the NFL drafts. That analogy is useless.

There's nobody worth trading up for, even in theory, and trade-ups mostly suck anyway.

I remember reading mock drafts in January when Robertson was supposed to be going to the Jets with the 22nd pick before the combine.

That's wrong. Nugent has to be one of the most consistent players on our team this year.

This is not how I counted them up.

    I see:

    MIA
    STL
    OAK (opponents 130-126)
    KC (opponents (131-125)
NYJ/ATL coin flip. (ATL oppnents 132-124. Jets opponents 132-123)

Now if Tennessee wins, we go 6th...

Thinking who the Jets will pick right now is pointless. Who knows what holes they will fill via free agency/trade.
