This sux. The Jets, if they win are gonna finish one game behind in SOS to Atlanta and Oakland, meaning both will pick before the Jets.
Oakland is like 3 games ahead of us on SOS going into today. Oaklnad loses and Jets win.....there ahead of us.
Oakland SOS (132-124). Atlanta SOS (132-124). Jets SOS (133-123). Based on todays scores and the Indy Tenn game can be factored in cause both Atlanta and Oakland played both so you just add a win and a loss to their totals. The Jet SOS is best case scenario based on Tennesse.
Going into today.......the Jets were 1 game better than ATL in SOS......I think were tied right now.......it's close.
ATL/JETS Atlanta If the Jets and Falcons both finish the season tied its going to come down to the wire for the tiebreaker. The teams only have two common opponents, Tennessee and New York, so the remaining teams would be used to calculate the SOS. Right now the Jets would be locked into a minimum SOS of 114-107 against 113-106 for Atlanta, so its basically a dead heat. Tiebreaker scenarios @ 3 wins or 4 wins 1. If New Orleans and San Francisco win: Jets clinch at least a coin flip. If either Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Minnesota or Indianapolis win along with the NO & SF win the Jets clinch the SOS. 2.If New Orleans wins and San Francisco loses or New Orleans loses and San Francisco wins: Philadelphia and Cincinnati to finish with the same record as Denver and Tennessee combined in week 17 to force a coin flip or to finish with one extra win to win the tiebreaker outright. 3. If New Orleans loses and San Francisco loses: Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Minnesota and Indianapolis to all win to force a coin flip
