    I know ---- all you guys are rolling your eyes saying, "God, not another one." But I just had to post this mock draft website;

    http://www.drafttek.com/round12008.html

I hate criticizing these mock drafts (credible or not) because I am a mock draft addict. But this one has to be the funkiest I've seen in terms of the picks they project for us.

    1) Sedrick Ellis DT USC
    Never seen that one before

    2) Dan Connor OLB Penn St.
    Never seen that one either.

    3) Beau Bell ILB Nevada
    I have seen that one.

    4) John David Booty QB USC
    My God.

If this was our draft after 4 rounds, I think I would actually cry someplace in public.

That just might qualify as the worst way in which to waste our high picks.... Booty? dear god we better not take a QB in round 4. If we want a different guy than Clemmens, draft one with our top pick. If we don't want a new QB don't draft one so high, draft one later on 6th round or so for depth.

This site uses a computer program to make their picks. I check it every year and it is usually off base.

Whoever made this is obviously a USC Trojans fan...just about everyone on that team is getting picked higher than they should.

I actually don't think it is that bad. Some people think Ellis can put on weight and play Nose Tackle. I think Connor is being talked about as a 3-4 OLB but I could be wrong, I don't know a ton about him. We have a need at ILB if Vilma is gone. Not sure if this guy is up for it but it is a position we may need to draft early. If we let Chad go we should look for a mid round QB to develop as a backup. Booty could be that guy. I wouldn't be happy, but I see the logic.

RAMBO! -- have always respected your posts, but couldnt disagree w/you more on this. "Some think Ellis CAN put on weight" ??? That's the same ol' JETS, my brother. Thinking, hoping, waiting. He is UNDERSIZED. Connor is UNDERSIZED. He will get completely lost in the shuffle in the pros -- you heard it hear first.

NYJETSRULE made the best point about Booty --- basically we'd be wasting a 4th round pick on a QB w/so many other holes to fill -- if we want a different guy than Clemens, draft one with our top pick.

Haha, glad someone respected me. Notice I said some people think Ellis can put on weight. I wouldn't pick him but I've seen notable scouts (Todd McShay) peg him as a potential 3-4 Nose tackle. Seeing as this is a computer simulation, I understand why they might slot him to us.

I don't know a ton about Connor but if he is a projected OLB it might be another need that the computer assigned to us.

As far as taking a QB in the middle rounds, it wouldn't be to replace Clemens it would be to replace Pennington, unless you think Tuisasopo is the answer. I don't think Booty is going to start in this league but he could make a damn good backup and I think it has been demonstrated that you need two QBs to win in this league.
