The Jet's win their last game and are out of reach of DMC & Chris Long.

Jet's Trade Vilma for a 2nd Rd pick and give up a 5th Rd pick in 2009.

Jet's trade Pennington for 3rd Rd pick........biddding war increased with a few Teams......Vikings win out.

Everything falls wrong for the Jets and they end up with the 7th pick. ATL/Oak/Balt/ all lose.

Rd 1)#7..........Vernon Gholston OSU...DE/OLB..................Our best option, the Pats wish they had a chance to get him. Not my 1st choice.

Rd 2a)............Chris Williams Vandy..OT......Big OT, can step in right away at Rt and not miss a beat.

Rd 2b)............J Leman Illinois........ILB.......Vilma's replacement, stong at the point of attack and can shed blockers, team leader. Again, Pats would love Leman with their 2nd rd pick.

Rd 3a)............Kendall Langford.......DE.....Hampton.6'6"..295lbs........Nice size for a 3-4 end and was very productive at Hampton, worth a shot.

Rd 3b)............Cory Boyd.............RB.....SC............Hard nose, tough runner, excellent receiver out of the backfield, good blocker. Product of Orange , NJ.....had some minor problems when younger....has matured. I want to have another RB on the roster......we can split out Leon at times insread of running from behind the line of scrimmage.

Rd 4)..............Marcus Smith........WR.....New Mexico......6', 2" good receiver, with good speed for his size. Smart, very dedicated football player.

Rd 5)............Shannon Tevaga....OG........UCLA.....Where's the Beef??? Here he is!!!! Long Time starter for the Bruins with good size......can help the Jets right away. Falls a little lower than he should, but guards always do.

Rd 6)............Dwight Lowery...CB..........San Jose St.........JUCO transfer, has a nose for the football, with mulitple INTs. Good size 6"1".......alot of potential, worth a 6th Rd gamble.

Rd 7).............Paul Smith.........QB........Tulsa........Watched him play in some Conf USA games and looked real good......Worth keeping on The Roster as the 3rd QB.

I'm not trying to guess our FA signings, next to impossible.

Gholston - Although I have not seen him this year, from various web sites, profiles and projections he would appear good value for us at #7. I'm interested too see how he plays in a big game. I'll be watching him closely iin the National Championship game.

Williams - Again seems to be a solid pick, but if we sign Stacy Andrews I would think we would put him at RT, and go another direction here. Possibly WR or OG, (Schenering the LG from Oregon St. will be an NFL stud - Watch him tonight in the bowl game against Maryland. The MD DT is rated a first day draft pick by many this year - it will be interesting to watch.)

Leman - Another solid pick at this point - but will he still be there?? Too short??

I too like Marcus Smith - a sleeper pick - Catches well over the middle, is a very good route runner (which we do not have) and has excellent speed after the catch. Saw him in 2 games this year

Corey Boyd will probably slip into day 2 unless he has an excellent combine, but he is one of those guys that's going to be a better pro than a college player.

At worst, Boyd will give someone a solid 3rd down back.

Has anyone read or heard where G Jordan Grimes (6-3, 325) of Purdue is projected?

The best I have seen him rated is 6th best OG ---- he's projected to be a 4th round pick. How has he looked in the game? I wanted to watch the Purdue bowl game tonight specifically to see him, but I got hung up w/other BS.

I jumped in late and wanted to know the same myself. Last I heard was that he was day-to-day. I haven't seen his number since tuning in.

I really like Boyd, he reminds of Westbrook, great all-round back. The NFL team that drafts him won't regret it.

I like Langford in the third or fourth as well. If he tests well at the combine he might jump up into the second though.
