No such thing as an easy schedule in this league. Any team can win on any given Sunday. As long as the Jets make good improvements in the offseason they should be a better team in 2008. Let's see if Mangini does that big re-evaluation that he says that he'll be making at season's end. I only hope for the best. I'm tired of losing!

    Trust me. It's right.
The 2006 game was part of the rotation. That particular game had been known for four years in advance.
The 2007 and 2008 trips to Tennessee were determined based on 2006 and 2007 results, respectively.

Also, Tennessee will play at the Jets in 2009.

hey, at this stage, if we make some good offseason moves then we should feel confident about going above 500 and even being inthe hunt for the PO's.

Let's say hypothetically we improve our team a bit and get an instant impact player in the draft.

All of these I see as very winnable games:

Home: Miami, Buffalo, Denver, Kansas City, Arizona, St. Louis, Cincy

    Away: Miami, Oakland, San Francisco

Let's say we blow it in two of those games, but win one of the "non-winnable" games.

That would put us at 9-7 and right in the playoff hunt. So in other words get ready for another heart breaking end of the season loss to knock us out of the playoff race [IMG]

yeah, let's start analyzing the win-loss record for next season with a game left in this one.

Arizona, St. Louis and Cinci will probable all be better then this year. Rams are a decent team when everyone is healthy, Arizona has been improving and Cinci is having a down year.

The games that we should win are Miami twice, San Fran, Buffalo atleast once, Kansas City, OaKland.. Thats atleast 6 games and then we have games against teams I think should improve that had bad years like Denver, Cinci, Rams and Arizona

It's a very favorable schedule though.

It doesn't matter what the sched looks like we can be a 10 win team again. teams get good and bad so quick and w/ a good offseason we'll be back in the playoff hunt.

    See post #8.

The 2006 trip to Tennessee was determined years in advance.
    The Jets played/will play
the AFC South teams in 2003, 2006, and 2009,
the AFC West teams in 2002, 2005, and 2008,
and the AFC North teams in 2004 and 2007.

    Titans vs Jets
    2003- at NYJ
    2006- at TEN
    2009- at NYJ

Now, here is where the 2007 and 2008 games come into play.
Two opponents are based upon the previous year's standing and it just so happens that the Jets road games in this portion of the scheduling format where the AFC South team that finished in the same spot in their division as the Jets did in the East.
Jets and Titans- both 2nd place in 2006
Jets and Titans- both 3rd place in 2007

How can anyone say that is an easy schedule??? You don't even know who is on these teams yet. Everyone knows the NFL is a year to year for all we know Oakland maye be a playoff team next year.

Trying to determine if a schedule is easy or not is very premature, but that is kind of rough. I recall the Giants had to go through the same thing last year. But at the same time, I read in one of those handbooks they pass out at the games that the Jets schedule this year has allowed them to travel the least amount of miles in the NFL this season. I guess it evens out in most situations, although some teams like St. Louis have geographic disadvantages.
