(he's on vacation or something) Lock Browns -3 @Cinci The Browns can clinch a playoff birth with a win in Cinci. They've won shootouts, close games, and even a snow game this year. They're playing like a playoff team right now and Cinci is definitely not. Confidence: 5 out of 5 AND Sants -3 vs. Iggles The Saints are playing great football right now and have an outside shot at making the playoffs still. Look for them to handle the Iggles by a TD at home. Confidence: 4 out of 5 Honorable Mention: Texans +6.5 @IND The Texans always play the Colts tough and the Colts have nothing to play for right now with the Bye week locked up and no shot at home field throughout. You may see a half of Peyton Manning, but rest assured the first time Mario Williams comes barreling down on him he'll be pulled from the game - even if Dungy says he not resting anyone. The Texans are playing for pride and to finish the season on a strong note. Kubiak will have his team ready to play. Confidence: 2 out of 5 Dolphins +22.5 @NE Cold, windy, and wet in Foxboro again this week. The fins have a full head of steam riding their longest winning streak of the season into this game and will also be looking to preserve history for their franchise. They won't but they also won't lose by more than 3 scores in the weather. Confidence: 3 out of 5
I agree with the first two, but I can see the Pats winning by at least 24 and I think the Colts will beat the Texans by at least a TD.
Dungy has said he's not going to rest people, but I'm willing to be Manning will be given a seat after Williams gives him a good shot or two. As for Miami, c'mon they're on a winning streak! Plus the weather is going to suck again.
I think I'm going to take the points on that game, but betting on Miami in New England is never a good idea.
no matter how shitty miami is they always seem to play the pats tough. The pats did toast them by 21 in Miami this year but that wasn't in bad weather. The offense the Pats were running up the scores with is not great for bad weather. I'm not calling it a lock - confidence level is 3 out of 5 with 5 being the highest.
they haven't gotten blown out by NE the last few years, but this Patriots team is much better than those Patriots teams, and this Dolphins team is much worse than those Dolphins teams. If Miami was still winless, I'd have more confidence picking Miami? Now? It's one of my 5 lowest confidence games of the week.
wouldn't make it my lock of the week, but I would advise putting a small bet on the Rams (+8). Probably a 4 star pick.
My buddy who I discuss football betting with all the time advised the same thing. 8 point home dogs, especially this time of year, are hard to beat so i can't disagree. My only problem is that Pittsburgh is in somewhat of a dogfight for there division right now. They're going to be leaving everything on the field.
the games late in the year where it only means something to one team are always tough. There are a bunch this week. this one, hou-ind, cle-cin, ten-jets, etc. I'm picking the Rams with full knowledge that the Steelers need the game badly. But I could see the Steelers losing tonight and winning the division anyway. Watch out for Cincy on Sunday. Another game where one team needs it.
cinci is a train wreck with the wheels falling off. if any team is going to throw in the towel for the season, i see them doing it. i'm going to go light on the rams and see what happens. thanks for the tip.
The team that threw in the towel is Baltimore. I picked against them last week because of this. The Bengals have the kind of players that might throw in the towel, but I haven't seen it from them, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
absolutely Atlanta. I picked them to get crushed last week. I'm picking against them again this week. By the way, I'm in my fantasy championship and I think I'm going with Brees over Roethlisberger. Tough call though. But if I feel good about the Rams, I'm not going to predict Big Ben having a big game.
bunch of BCS. Rams had the cover. Down 7, Davenport fumbled and the Rams recovered deep in Steelers territory. For whatever reason, they ruled it Steelers ball (forward progress stopped?) and then the Steelers went on a clock-killing drive that ended with a FG. if the Rams had gotten the ball like they arguably should've they definitely would've covered and maybe even won. Really wanted a win there so we'd get better draft position.
Unfortunately in football and in gambling there are no "what if's". If there were I'd be rich. Hopefully you decided to start Rothlisberger on your fantasy team.
I didn't. Brees instead. The Rams game has me pissed because I recommended it and the Rams DID play them close.
I wouldn't have taken them if I didn't think it was a good bet, and I still think it was a good bet. Shit happens. I'm not worried, going down a little on Thursday is a lot easier than being down on Monday.
