Not to mention this report mentions multiple Yankees but only a couple used them during 1 or 2 of the Championship years. Clemens in '99 and '00(Clemens was almost useless in the '99 playoffs but great in '00) and Neagle who was useless in 2000. I am 100% sure there were more Yankees using during that time BUT I am also 100% sure there were more players on every team including teams like the Mets that we embarrassed in the WS.

You met fans are something else. Your just jealous of the 26 world series championships, and the fact that we own New york baby. No other team in any sport has the popularity, history, amount of championships, number of fans around the globe, and merchandise sales like the New York Yankees. The mets is New York cities step child of a baseball team. THE YANKEES ARE BASEBALL!! Without the Yankees, and it's numerous amount of superstar legends its produced through out history, baseball wouldn't be what it is today.

What precisely am I jealous of? The Nolan Ryan trade? The way the Mets stabbed Tom Seaver in the back... TWICE?

The Nolan Ryan trade occurred in 1971. The Mets trade Tom Seaver in 1975 or 76, I believe. Do you think Americans should still be mad at the Japanese for bombing Pearl Harbor?

I wasn't mad. I found both incidents rather humerous as a Yankees fan.

Perhaps that says more about the Mets fans on this board, and we're just seeing the result of his observations.

Um, it not exactly been, well, UNHEARD of, for the Yankees to give up on promising young pitching prospects over the years. Al Leiter for Jesse Barfield is one stain in particular that I can't seem to get out in the wash. Just my $ .o2.

And still, the Mets won the World Series without him in '86. And in the years after he was cast off from the Mets, exactly how many more World Series winners was he on?

Yeah, it was a bad trade in hindsight. Congratulations.
