What we should have done is vote Brady as QB and our whole O Line 80,000 times each.(the worst 5 on our team) Then vote the best NFC pass rushers. They would sack Brady 3 times and a torn rotator cuff later we might have a shot for the 2009 playoffs. Well there is always next year.
Cribbs I think has 2 TDs and leon 3, Cribb aso had a better KOR average. Both were deserving, ths isn't like Welker going as the return man as he led the fan voting. Cribbs deserves it as much as Leon.
True. But I can't quibble all that much with that starting roster, except that I do think Rhodes should be on it. Beyond that, I think Ray Lewis, although he gets a ton of tackles, is not much more than a pile-jumping loudmouth; and Troy Polamalu just hasn't played at the proverbial "ProBowl level," although I know he's been contending with injuries.
Lewis is one of those guys who had a season that got him 'in for life.' After that 2000 season, where they won the Super Bowl, Lewis got his lifetime pass.... It's annoying, but true
Antonio Gates has 4 more TDs than Winslow. Tony Gonzalez and Kellen Winslow have the same number of yards and TDs, but Gonzalez has more receptions and Winslow has two fumbles. And Jason Witten is statistically the best TE in the game. As for Derek Anderson, Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger both have more TDs a higher completion percentage and better QB rating than Anderson, Manning also has more yards, and Roethlisberger has fewer INTs.
I actually liked Garrard for that 3rd AFC QB spot, over Roethlisberger..... But then again, Roethlisberger was playing superbly until very recently, and by then, the votes were largely already in
Cribbs had a higher return average and 1 less touchdown, I would love for Leon to make it but it was pretty close, and Cribbs is on a winning team
I was actually going to respond in detail to this thread, until my better judgement reminded me that this is talking about the Pro Bowl. Who cares.
I could not agree with you more. There are a lot of experts out there that said that Rhodes had a better year than Polamalu. Not to take away from Polamalu, but it is clear that the Pro Bowl is nothing more than a popularity contest. Off subject, but I think Fred Taylor deserved to go, too.
