I am as tired of the dink and dunk as any of us but if we decide Kellen isn't our Qb of the future then who are we better off starting next season while we once again groom a QB. We know Chad will compete and give us a chance to win and who better to train our next QB. I don't know it's a tough decision to make considering what we have seen of Kellen and what we have surrounded him with but all I know is when Chad went in yesterday I was 100 times more confident in our chances to win that game.

Kellen has a bad line, bad recievers, <insert excuse here>

Chad doesn't have those things so he should be benched and cast-off from the Jets.

Clemens has a strong arm too. Did you see him almost throw the ball away yesterday. If Chad was in that situation the ball wouldn't have made it to the Pats safety and would've just falled on the ground like a dead duck he's got a weak arm.

If anything let Clem heal, and let Chad finish his Jets career as the starter, and then assess the situation in the offseason.

You're really not gonna let Chad play one of his last games as a Jet in his home state of Tennessee with his family looking on? Chad hasn't done anything to deserve this humiliation.

I definately agree about the part with keeping chad, but I don't know if we should make him starting QB; even though its a shame having him benched, he would be a great addition to this team without him actually playing.

Clemens definitely deserves the reins next year. We must get a better offensive line - only then can we judge what we have.

I think he already has proven that when he has had time he can make a lot of throws that Chad could only dream of making. I think his arm strength will offer many more possibilities in offensive play calling for next year.

I think we definitely should trade Chad after this year is over. In fact, it shouldn't even be a topic of discussion. I am not saying Chad is bad - I am saying that the degree to which things have deteriorated under Herm and the amount of overhaul required to replace Chad's necessary supporting cast under Mangini, put too much on the plate for this team.

As long as our offensive line does not allow Chad to be steamrolled into the ground like they did for Clemens we might actually get a reasonable draft pick for the guy. We can fill a need with that draft pick, like getting a good offensive lineman.

As I myself have said before, the QB position is only part of the problem. We're lacking in many areas. And one is the O-Line. You can be the best quarterback in the world, but if you have no line in front of you and you're running for your life the entire time it doesn't allow for a QB to develop. It's early to place a vote on Kellen, but I think with time he should be a good quarterback for us. It's just a matter of looking at other areas to improve on too. Agree?

Chad thinks as a starting QB thinks; I do not see him changing his mindset in the off-season. He is too highly paid to be a backup and he will absolutely not restructure anymore than he has.

It makes complete sense for both the Jets, and especially for Chad, for Chad to be traded.

Would love to keep him....however he's gonna be paid a lot (for a backup) and I doubt he's gonna restructure again.

If his salary wasn't so high I'd like to have him as a backup. Unfortunately it is, and he's not going to take a pay cut to be a backup QB when he knows he can start somewhere else.

He's had 5 years to prove himself here and it's time for him to move on. Don't give up on Clemens after 6 starts.

Can you please explan to me what Clemens has shown to deserve the reigns next year? I thought so. Stop with the excuses about the o-line b/c you only view that as a problem with ur clemens goggles when Chad is not starting. So basically you are saying that since we suck so much Clemens can stink up the joint as much as he wants and get a pass. Consider this before you post; in a very similar situation with just as bad a team, BROOKS BOLLINGER way outperformed Clemens in his first season with significant playing time. Thats right! BROOKS BOLLINGER!

Right....How many times have we talked about if KC had some problems everyone would want Chad back???
To me KC should have been in from the beginning, we would have won more games. DAMN, we wasted years on a nice guy with a predictable arm. Everyone knows what he can do, now it's time to move on.

Chad is an NFL starting QB, and plays like one. Kellen Clemens has yet to prove that he can be an NFL starting QB.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

It's time to end the Chad era. His cap number is too expensive and the Jets could use the space if they want to try to get some big free agents. I think KC is the answer, its been a struggle yes, but look at the two minute drives he has put together against the Ravens, the Steelers, and the Redskins. This was something Chad could never do. If you give me a QB who can run an offense efficiently in 2 min, I'll definitely take it as something to build upon and mold into a franchise QB. Who else do you want Matt Ryan? I'll pass.

Mike and the Mad Dog were talking about the Jets QB situation this afternoon at about 3PM.

Dog flat out said that Chad is a "far, far superior QB than Clemens... it isn't even close," to which Fatcessa agreed. Dog went as far as to say that "the Jets would have been BADLY beaten yesterday if Clemens had remained in the game, even assuming he wasn't injured. There is no comparison between the two."

Fatcessa came back with, "Okay, tell me the kid is inexperienced, tell me he needs to grow, etc., but Pennington is the better QB right now." Of course, he tempered his comments by mentioning the fact that Chad only has the dink and dunk, which he described as "maddening" (the fact that it takes dozens of plays and many minutes off the clock to get the ball downfield). "Then he gets in the Red Zone and doesn't score." He also chastised Mangini for not taking the 3 points early on (when it was 7-0).

Dog reamed Mangini a new one over inserting Brad Smith... "Get him out of there already!" Fatcessa agreed and called Smith a gadget play guy and nothing else, and you can do it once a game and maybe fool somebody, but get him out of there alread. On 4th and 2, that's a BIG PLAY. You give the ball to your QB, not Smith, who cannot really pass the ball... it's a gadget... and at a time like that with 4th and 2, you go wityh what you do best, not gadgets.

Dog chimed in on Smith and said, "Mangini has a fixation with this kid already... what is it? They have this thing about Brad Smith... get off it already.. get him out of there!"

Just reiterating above what was said by M&MD but a certain amount of this rings true. Then dog asks Mike, "Who do you go with now next week, Pennington or Clemens?"

Mike says, "I go with Clemens still." Dog asks, "What do you think Mangini will do?" Mike answers, "He probably go with Clemens, even though right now, Chad gives you your best chance to win."

This is what M&MD were saying about Clemens. ""What have we seen him in, 7 or 8 games?" "He's not a BAD QB from what we've seen, but nor can I say he's a GOOD QB yet."

This is just what this team needs, to remain in QB limbo.

Dog Dick makes that show unlistenable to me. They should team him up with Skip Bayless.
