This is laughable. The reason this game was close is because of the fucking Defense. Let me check here.................. 1........2..............3.........4..............5..........6..........7.......8............9....10 Yup they gave up 10 points to the most high powered offense in the league. Revis covered Moss like a blanket, as did others. Although, Maroney had over 100 yards he still did not run all over the Jets (thank you David Harris). Also 7 of those points were because of a blocked punt.............. If you only give up 10 points to an offense how fucking difficult is it to keep this game close............... Please some one answer that question?

Yeah, he only faced the tough D's in the game in Baltimore, Washington, and Pittsburgh. And got into OT(Should be 3 of them if McDroppins hangs on) to each one of them........ The kid is F-Ing playing in what is his 1st TRUE season at QB with banged up QBs, No kind of Running game and a weak ass O-Line. Clemens hasnt looked great but a fucking shitty QB. Please, not every QB is gonna tear the league on fire. Aikman and Peyton Manning had difficulties with their teams in their 1st year's of playing. You need to show a bit of patience. I do really think a lot of Chad as a QB and a member of the team, but I agree that Clemens should be playing now too. The one thing that Chad playing now can do is possibly raise his trade value. I don't think they will stick with Chad for next year after benching him, but we will see. Weirder shit has happened. I don't agree he's been as far as he can except that it is true without a better team around him. In either case we need a better team around whoever the QB is. They can't create a QB carousel in the meantime though. I think that hurts the team overall. He will either need to agree to a pay cut and be a backup (doubtful), or find a new home.
Penington stinks. He is not Namath, Brady, Manning, or whatever winning Qb you can name. He is a pick 6 waiting to happen. He was not the root cause for many of the early season losses as no 1 player is. However, he did absolutely nothing but throw pick 6 when the game was on the line in the Eagles, Giants etc. etc. I have moved on already. This blind love for a freaking mediocre QB is utterly ridiculous. I do not hate the guy I am just calling a spade a spade. It is like all these Jets fans are clinging onto the second coming of Dan Marino and it simply is not the case. Also if Chad gives the Jets the best chance to win how come KC still has more wins than him?
I am a big Chaddaboy fan but we cant have a QB who takes 7-8 mins to get a score(FG) with dumpoff passes. I understand the weather issue and all but as great of a leader and intangible QB Chad is, he is not a QB that can rally a team when down by a 2 possession game which was displayed today. I will root for him regardless of where he plays but that FG drive showed us what Chad can do in the offense.
I watched the game at the bar, and a few things were crystal clear: 1. Chad has lost "it" - his cerebral approach, or whatever. He got flagged for a delay of game in one of the second half drives - and it was driving me nuts. He didn't have that *Ok. barring last year* in the past. 2. The weather must have been real terrible, but did you see the spiral on Chad's pass? It hurt my eyes watching the wobbly pass ducking through the air during what felt like eternity. He can deliver with zip on the ball; I saw him throwing balls with nice zips even during today's games - I just can't figure out why he's not doing that for the life of me. 3. Receivers; the endzone juggle by the "Stone Hand" Mac looked like a sure TD pass to me when the ball was in the air - by the trajectory of the ball, the trajectory of the receiver, and the cushion JMac had behind. Then comes the juggle. I just don't know what the CS is thinking; why haven't they cut this piece of shit yet? 4. Well. 7:40 drive that ended up as a field goal. I told my brother, if the Jets don't go for that 4th-and-1 there, they lose anyway. I didn't really expect Leon return there, so I was thinking, if the Jets kick there, they won't have a shot at scoring again, given the little time they have and the massive time they need to spend to move the chains. Didn't go the way I expected it, but the end result is still the same; a Jet loss.

I like chad! tonight was nice to see chad play. he has very good statistics and he is still jets QB forever.
His stats were nothing spectacular, missy. His completions were of: underneath pattern/shallow out (Baker) more often than not. He will complete them, but will that be enough? No. Just like every poster on this board has noticed, my brother (and he doesn't watch Jets football at all) pointed this out after watching Chad's play for a mere quarter; Because his passes are all of short range, that's hurting the running game. With the kind of completion ratio (22/33) defense is supposed to give some cushion to the receivers and back off - not with Chad. And because they can't run on a consistent basis, they're forced to deal with 3rd and longs a lot. Look at how effective Thomas Jones was. Or Leon Washington for that matter. As far as I can see, Leon had a couple of good run when Brad Smith - and not Pennington - was behind center. Chad is done. Not with this garbage of personnel they call OL anyway.
To the poster who made this thread... Saying how Chad is the only player who plays hard every play... I disagree We may only have 3 wins... But our players have not quit on Mangini and our players have played thier damn ass off all season long trying to win these games... IF anything... We are out of the playoffs, been out of the playoffs, just lost a tough game vs the Browns... But yet we only lose to the Patriots by 10 points? That alone means this team is trying... If we would have lost by 20-30-40 points, well then... Maybe, just maybe you may have a point... But your wrong in this one
Miamipuck - Namath sucked his last 5 or 6 years with us. You Chad haters would have been yelling to bench Namath 2 years after he won the Super Bowl. They both played with broken down bodies and broken down teams... Anyways, Chad will be gone next year, winning games for someone else and we will get to see what KC has I hope the youngsters on this board are right about KC.
