I agree. I doubt any future great teams lack the class and constantly run up the score in games they already had won. Its a patriots thing that will never be repeated.

There's nothing perfect about your entire team being arrogant pompous assholes walking around modelling in cowboy attire. I for one, wish less an injury on Brady than a tweak or 2 among the O-Line. Everyone is great with 10 seconds to throw.

There's only one "true" Pats fan down here, and when he talks to me about football, I'd rather be plucking my eyelashes out. He doesn't know anything, apart from he was born in Boston.

Looks like just rain and wind by game time tomorrow in Foxborough. Not good for the Jets. Take the Pats and give the points. A buddy of mine who does communications for the Pats said the players are all just talking about how they want to humiliate the Jets. He said he's never seen all the players so focused. I have a feeling Belichick may skip the handshake and just knee Mangini in the nuts after the game.

I am glad that you brought the running it up issue to the table.

When should a NFL team stop doing their best? 20 points (I don't think so, Indy beat us in the AFC Championship after a big 1st half lead)

22 points in the 4th qtr? Makes sense, four posessions. Run out the clock. Should the back dive to the ground if it looks like he might make a 1st down?

Here is a practical solution. Let the losing team declare "no masse". They put their 2nd string in and the winning team follows.

Anything less then doing your best could be considered shaving points......

We've already voted around here and it was one of ours idea first, so maybe Bill could come up with something else post game, such as throw his homeless rags in a wood chipper for confetti and, here's a new one: have a dull, monotonous post-game presser!

    Ah, Winston, always the downer!

You are, of course, ridiculously correct - anyone who sees any meaningful parallels with SB 3 beyond the coincidence of one team involved is crazy. The Jets are a bad team, the Patriots are a very good one, unlike in SB 3 (where the Jets were easily as good as the Colts were). Only amazing luck will prevent the Jets from losing big, but given the weather it seems unlikely that it will be as big as these idiots are proclaiming.

IMO the real point is how incapable these fans are of seeing two key points: (1) The success or lack of success of the team you root for doesn't in any way reflect on you, and (2) the moral outrage against Mangini for daring to not let Belichick continue to cheat makes you look like a fool.

Okay guy, I'll give you some credit here, your posts have been objective and fair,I have no problem with someone posting food for thought. We Jets have some issues with you guys a lot to do with that scumbag Beli some historical; eg red sox, (spit), but this post poat here spells out the whole reason why you guys have no class: why run up the score? Beat us , shake hands and say, "you know guys, in this parity driven NFL world, your time will come". I can't remember a more hated team since the cheapshot Raiders of the late 70's.

    Pats - 27
    Jets - 14

I think this game is closer than people want it to be

This thread can be ended in 5 short words as to what the Pats fans are predicting:

    Who gives a rat's ass!

    Trust me.

Take the Pats and just give the points. It's going to be a slaughter of biblical proportions. Do not allow any children to watch this game. They could get scarred for life. Trust me.

They also seem to think that since their team is better than ours, it somehow makes them more intelligent fans.

Nothing to do with the Pats being better. I am thinking more that it is upbringing, education and maybe nutrition, but something makes us more intelligent fans.

Funny, where was the supposed "moral outrage" when Mangina was with the Patriots? Life is good when you're the beneficiary of the "cheating" one season, and then turn around and rat out your old teammates the next to benefit your new team.

I think you read his post ass backwards. Mangini had no moral outrage he just has the responsability to make sure his team isn't taken advantage of. You have to be an idiot to allow a known cheat to have the upper hand on your team. It's the Pats fans who have some moral outrage about Mangini defending his team.
