Still haven't been to a Jets game:sad: Definitely going to the Jets-Seahawks game next year though:beer:
The first one I attended I believe was a win over Seattle in like '87 or 88, but my dad more or less made us leave in the third quarter cause he's always been a sticker for traffic. After that I've been to a handful of preseason games and a couple of regular season games (including a terrible loss to the Patriots in '01 that set their dynasty going). The only time I've been to a game by myself we beat the Niners to get off to a 5-0 start that one year under Herm. The last game I was at was the playoff clincher against the Raiders last year Probably will be the last one I go to for some time with all the issues around the Meadowlands.
Was it a Monday Night game?(the Seattle game) If so it was '87, if not the game was 1985. The Jets-Seattle series is a strange one. We lost 7 straight to start the series against them from '77 to '83. In '81 we ended the season 10-2-1 and our only 2 losses were to Seattle twice. But it turned in '85 and we have won 8 of 9 since.
I didn't remember the day but I did remember the score as being something in the neighborhood of 30-14. I checked and it must have been that '87 game on Monday Night cause it ended up 30-13.
Have fun:beer: Although it's not a Jets game sadly, I am going to my second NFL game when the Seahawks play the Redskins/Vikings/Saints in the first round of the playoffs
I believe it was in 2004 vs. the Texans, a day before my birthday. That was a pretty good game, I think the Jets won 27-9. I went to the Eagles-Jets this year though...they played like garbage, but the ceremony at half time was cool, and its always fun to be at sporting events.
Jets Cowboys 1978? at Shea. I was 9 or 10 and I remember three things from the game: 1. freezing to death in the upper deck 2. the STRONG smell of weed - it was like a Grateful Dead concert up there 3. the Jets getting spanked.
Well, I wasn't there so I can't attest to #2 but that game was in December and according to the video tape the winds gusted close to 50 mph, not a nice day to be in the upper deck at Shea and yes, the Jets - a little flat after losing in OT to the Browns the week before to cost them a chance at a wild card spot - were spanked by the Super Bowl bound Cowboys 30-7.
First (and only) game so far was the regular season finale against the Packers when they won the division. So fantastic. Long trip from Edmonton to watch games, but I want to do it again BADLY.
First game i remember was exhibition against Giants in Conn. So long ago don't remember score. Had seats in shea in left field. About 40 yrd line in football. Always remember wind blowing on my back. Seats in NJ were issued as follows. You could purchase 2 for each one you had.I had 4 tkts at shea but only purchased 4 in NJ. Ended up in section 129 on visitor side. About the 20 yrd line. Going to be interesting to see how they allocate seats in the new stadium.
1st regular season game was against Oakland in 06 to clinch the playoffs. I'll always remember Fireman Ed screaming playoffs on the screen right before the J E T S chant.
My first game was in 05 when we played jacksonville. Both teams werent going anywhere but when chad threw the winning touchdown pass to coles literally right in front of my eyes. I knew i was hooked.
'05 we lost to Jax in week 3 when Chad and Fiedler got hurt but we still lost in OT. I think you are thinking about '03 in November when Chad hit Moss(coles was in Wash) in the final minute to give us the win.
That was my first game too. I was seven and I don't remember the details. I know that I liked the Raiders black uniforms.
