David Eckstein signs with Blue Jays

This just makes the Castillo deal look even worse. As much as I hate Eckstein I would've preferred one year of the scrapper to 4 years of Luis Castillo and his bum knees.

 

Eckstein blew it himself. According to reports, he wanted four years from the Mets and more money than Castillo signed for.

 

I think I'd rather see Gotay than Eckstein. 20 errors in only 114 games last year. If I have to read one more story about how "scrappy" or "valuable" a light hitting, poor fielder is I'm going to go crazy.

Who wouldn't, but the Mets have made it abundantly clear that the only way Gotay will ever be a starter with them is if he's the backup when someone gets injured. While Gotay does have terrible range I think they greatly overrate Castillo's defensive ability at this point and are going by his reputation.

 

Aw, crap. I just saw this, I can't help I don't keep up with everything as it happens. Well, that sucks, I loved Eck. Aw, damn. :sad:

 

Eckstien is the most annoying player in professional sports.

 

Well he does lead the league in clutchness rating.

And scrapitude, and gritiness, to go along with his league high rating in whiteness.
