I just watched the news and they are talking about a Northeaster waxing New England Sunday morning.Al Roker said that they could have 3 feet of snow with 65 mile and hour winds. I am sorry even superbrady aint throwin in that. Patsies running game has come up short these past few weeks . So I think that the bad weather has got to help us. My only concern is that it is to bad and they cancel the game. I decided to throw my company christmas party at the local sports bar so I can watch the game without catchin crap from the old lady. It sucks when even she gives me shit. Why do ya watch those guys . It aint like their gonna win. Needless to say my response to that statement doesnt get me any quality time with her. Oh well I am starting to get pumped up. I havent been all year so I gues I have to agree with those caling this our superbowl.
Last I checked, snow is a disadvantage for both teams since neither team can control it or their play in it. Furthermore, one would assume the Patsies to be better prepared to play in the snow seeing how they're in New England, where it snows all the time.
Pats rush defense sucks. Their rush offense sucks. This is a big advantage for the Jets. Maybe not enough for a win but it will be a close game. BTW, has any NFL game ever been canceled due to weather? I know there have been delays but only for lightning.
Ok so then you are saying it would be better for us to come to a pristine field under perfect conditions. Sorry gotta disagree. Big part of Patsies game is passing and that will all be eliminated if the winds truly get over 50. Plus the snow. In my opinion I think that will help us.
This place hasn't seen a real good snow storm the last 2 winters until yesterday. :rofl2: We are overdue to get buried this winter out here.
ESPN mentioned that the Pats are something like 9-0 this decade when playing in the snow. Yup, our chances are getting better by the minute.
They use to be able to run the ball earlier in this decade. Oh, and the Jets won SB3 too. More worthless stats.
They don't run the ball because they don't have too. Look no further then the fact that they don't run the ball and they haven't lost this season.

Trouble is, they are so much better at standing still than the Jets... Seriously though, there's a saying in English football (soccer). "The weather is a great leveller". Awful playing conditions might just bring the Pats down to Earth and let the Jets get at them. I'd love for that to happen and the more I read, see and hear of (almost) everybody completely writing off the Jets chances, the more I think the Jets have a chance. Steve Mariucci said the game could be close, but he's the only one I've heard so far. I'll be paying to watch this on Yahoo...
Take the 23.5 points (if it's still that high). Almost as sure a bet as the 19 1/2 in SB3. Down to 22.5 today. Just checked. I'm sure a lot of heavy money is coming in on the Jets. Can't wait to see what it is at game time.
I tend to think of New Jersey as being a northern state; I forget how balmy it is down there compared to up here in the arctic north. the snow could very well be an equalizer. generally speaking a blizzard will favor a short passing game, not the running game, for a couple of reasons: 1. it's hard to block and make cuts when running the ball, and the defense can just clog up the middle. it's also really hard to run outside. 2. it's virtually impossible to rush the passer. 3. receivers know where they are going, and can go there (to an extent) and then catch the ball. much harder for defensive players to cover them. needless to say however the blizzard conditions will practically eliminate deep passes. for an idea how this game could be played, look at the stats for the famous "snow bowl" (or "tuck rule game") against the raiders. Brady was 32 of 52 for 312 yards and Rich Gannon was 17 of 31 for 159 yards. In those days, the Patriots running game was even worse than it is today (this was in the old "dink and dunk" days when the Patriots running game basically consisted of short passes).
Pats are 14th in the league in rushing. They win through the air. Do you honestly think they can't run the ball? Take it a step further, do you honestly think that they won't be able to run the ball against the Jets? I agree we have a better shot in bad weather then good but come on...to say that they "can't" run the ball is a bit of a stretch. And when this season have they even been piss poor? What is piss poor anyway, winning by 3 or 7?
Yes, I honestly think they can't run the ball. We will see on Sunday whether or not I'm right. Oh, and I also think they can't stop the run either. Of course, few teams have had the opportunity to exploit that. We will see about that on Sunday too.
