Clemens said he will pitch at a discount only 25 Million pro-rated and come in in May this season to help his image.
Oh, and BTW...(this isnt yankeee hating...but I heard the discussion this AM about how the GM's had to know...) What about St Joe? and the rest of the managers....?
Rosenthal makes a good point today (and he is a HOF voter). He will not vote for anybody from the steroids era the first time they become eligible. His Reason being that he considers every one of them guilty if only for the reason that they were all members of the union and it was the union that refused to address the problem for so many years allowing the problem to get as bad as it did. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7562254
the point is, he's a whore. He'll say or write anything for publicity and money. In his book, he flat-out made some things up. I'm sure some of what he said was true, but he's one of the least trustworthy people on the planet. Palmeiro later testing positive doesn't mean that Canseco all of a sudden was being completely honest, because that's not possible.
Absolutely. The managers are all guilty as everyone else. (And no Yankee fan, save for junc, would consider Torre a saint.)
I'd explain to you how you're making an ass out of yourself... but your Yankee hatred wouldn't allow you to see it
I'll post the link here as well... http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-dodgers14dec14,1,2022347.story?page=1&coll=la-headlines-sports
The Clemens stuff is funny. Does anyone really like that guy(except Don)? It's not really a Yankee thing either Clemens is just a piece of shit. And the way he conducts himself makes him easy to poke fun at.
and of course Canseco accusing A-Rod: "All I can say is the Mitchell Report is incomplete. I could not believe that his name was not in the report." By the way, I don't care who Canseco accuses or what he says, whatever team it influences. Dude is a proven liar.
Bonds, Giambi, Tejada, Caminiti, Vaughn, Canseco, and Clemens. Clemens and Gagne Then I'm not going to try to go through the all stars.
I'm not a Canseco fan, but a lot of the stuff he did said turned out to be true....but it was obvious he had an agenda. Book sells.
some stuff turned out to be true. Palmeiro tested positive, so maybe the stuff he said about Palmeiro was true. But that book was chock full of lies and concocted stories.
poll on ESPN.com today: What will you most remember Roger Clemens for? 7 Cy Youngs: 25% 2 20 strikeouts games: 10% 354 wins: 8% 82 references in the Mitchell report: 56%
I never wanted to be in a position of defending Jose Canseco. Steroids aside, any guy who beats the hell out of his wives, and tries to run one of them off the road, deserves to have his scrotum yanked over his head. That said, Jose was ridiculed and marginalized when he said that steroids in MLB were rampant. He was scorned as street trash in front of the Congressional committee by the likes of McGwire and Palmero - juicers of the same breed. It was after those ridiculous performances before Congress (as well as Sosa's "no habla" testimony") that MLB finally started to get serious. It was only at the threat of Congress taking action that MLB made the Mitchell appointment. Make no mistake, Jose may be no hero, but he's owed a few apologies from people who scoffed as his allegations that steroids were being widely abused.
One thing I don't get - yesterday morning on the leaked list of names were Pujols, Varitek, Nomar, etc. What is the deal - how come they were not in the report?
This is very important. No one likes Clemens, and no one ever liked him. If I had to pick one person would have liked to have done steriods, it's probably him and A-Rod battling for that top spot.
