Then why was he removed from the Stadium. The Jets are the one's claiming they were granted persmission. Not the Patriots... Give it up. You lose again!

    From NY to KC

Sorry Sean I not trying to hijack your thread but this site won't let me stat a new thread until I?ve made 50 posts.

I'm a Chiefs fan and was hoping to solicit a couple of you to go to the KC Star Chiefs discussion forum and describe Herm Edwards years with the Jets. "forums.kansascity.com/kr-kcsports/start". As far as I can tell he is a pompous, ignorant yet arrogant jerk. Our local press is made of a bunch of pansy?s that are afraid to ask him a tough question. He continually complains about the previous coach staff and the players he inherited.

I question Herms coaching pedigree. His legacy in NY is not good and compared to his NFL coaching peers who were hired in 2006 he?s trailing the pack. The Chiefs and 9 others NFL teams hired new head coaches in 2006 -- Jets, Bills, Vikings, Packers, Saints, Texans, Lions, Raider and Rams. Theses teams averaged just 4.6 wins in 2005. However, Herm inherited a 10 and 6 team. In 2007 only the Rams and Jets trail the Chiefs in the standings. In 2005, Herm?s Jets were 4 and 12 and the Rams were 6 and 10. In NY Herm took over a team built by Parcells and Belichick and it took him 5 years to destroy that team. It?s only taken him two years to destroy this team.

The local story is that he is a great evaluator of talent and will turn this into a winner via the draft. I contend he left the Jets depleted of talent and the he road the coat tails of Parcells and Bilchick. If someone would start this thread for me it would be great. Please come one and all to the KC Chiefs forum and explain to my fellow Chief?s fans why Herm is possibly the worst coach in the NFL.

Because the Patriots didn't turn him into the league and leak it to the press. Because that's the way it's supposed to be handled. Rat bastards do what your head coach did.

Of course, the fact that they also said they never filmed at the game, and had to retract that statement, and that the Patriots denied giving him permission and removed him...all that is lies and irrelevant, right?

It is the Jets fans that got all up in arms when Pats fans were saying "Everyone does it." And guess what? The Jets do it, too! So what?
The Pats still got punished and payed the price. Is that not good enuff?
Are you going to continue to close your eyes and stick your fingers in your ears when evidence comes around that EVERY team does what the Pats do?

Mangini learned from the master. Maybe Belichick should've turned Mangini in first which would've cost the Jets a #1. Belichick however doesn't turn in coaches. Mangini does. I think the Jets did it

Going by this we can deduce that:
This has been blown way out of proportion and isn't half as big as people are making it out to be. I'm not suprised Belichick does it, I wouldn't be suprised if Mangini does it, I wouldn't be suprised if Parcells did it. The only coach I can't see doing it is Herm but that's only because he's probably too dumb to work a camera. Gamesmanship has been around for as long as coaching has. The only thing that sets Belichick apart is that he was arrogant enough to have someone taping from the sidelines and thought he wouldn't get caught. Can we please stop feeding the media and just get back to the football game?

Thank you. It's refreshing to see this put into perspective. Every coach did it, and if they didn't, they were a poor coach.

As usual, the Patsies trolls are missing the point. The league knew everyone did it. That's why they sent out a letter to ALL teams in August, which basically said..."That's it, no more". It was very specific. First quarter, first game Belichick had his guy taping and he got caught. Apparently, every other coach took the August letter seriously and complied.

I don't disagree with that at all....but your position now is a far cry from the position all of you were taking originally.

very true, and if it was the Jets th:wink: at did it, they would have given up the first born a forfit the whole seaon. The media never asked Billicrap why he did it after the warnings, no, they ask if he is going to make the Jets pay. If there is sports god, the Jets should win this weekend and finally put an end to the BS sports reporters sucking on the Pats ass and making them look like they are the victims, but the refs will have something to do with it at the end..

    well well well well well

    few things....

one: the August letter was August 2006, not this last August. If the Jets were videotaping outside of the NFL-approved camera equipment last year, then they WERE IN VIOLATION OF LEAGUE RULES LAST YEAR.

two: listen to you douchebags try and spin this one like it does anything but make your team's front office look like the disorganized children they are. Telling lies to the media, trying to cover their own @$$, breaking the rules and then tattling on the Patriots because they got their helmets crapped into last January... Tannenbaum is a dysfunctional crybaby (at least Polian is competent) and Mangini is a boy among men who shattered his reputation before turning 40. Combined, they're just stupid enough that they're going to start Clemens all year next year and ship a 105 rated QB to the Bears, where he's going to win playoff games!!! No wonder Bill Belichick did the "no comment." He's a stand up guy, and if he started opening his mouth he's have to drop names. He didn't even NAME MANGINI!!! HA! Our coach is a man, yours is a dork.

    hahaha.

This is great. At least if we're handing out asterisks, we have a couplea super bowls to show for it. What do you have for your asterisk? A 10-6 early exit from the playoffs sandwiched between 3 win seasons? Sweeet for you!!!

This whole thing is rediculous. As Don said earlier, EVERY TEAM TAPES GAMES. That's how players and coaches review individual performance on a game.

There are rules, however, as to what you can tape. Nowhere does is say that the Jets broke any rules with their taping.

Tha Pats, however, clearly broke the rules with what they were taping.

True, but there are tapes provided by the NFL...official game tapes. Teams are also allowed to tape within limitations, as to what they can tape and from where.

I think it is reasonable to assume that if a videographer is outside of the designated area, or got removed by security, why would that be?
