13 week schedule and Ohio State-Michigan moves to after Thanskgiving. It reduces the break between bowl games.
How do you want them to hold a championship game with 11 teams? When they are able to add a good 12th team like Iowa State or Texas (which has been discussed) I'll start arguing for a championship game.
To have a conference championship game you need divisions like what all the other conferences with a conference game has. With 11 teams it would be unbalanced and would cause schedule problems, other than that having a random championship game wouldn't make any sense especially when the conference record has only 1 team on top
Agreed. Unless the conference is broken into two divisions that do not play each other there is just no argument for a conference title game which can lead to only two possibile results: a 2-0 matchup in which the second game did not need to be played or a 1-1 matchup that leaves everybody still wondering. My favorite conference title game is no longer played. That was the Big Ten winner against the PAC-10 winner in the Rose Bowl. Now, that was a championship worth watching!
