Surprising he got 23 months. Guidelines were for him to get 12-18 months tops. He really has made a lot of enemies it would seem.
You are guessing wrong. There is no parole in federal prison. 23 months is 23 months. There is some way of getting a little bit off but it's not the same as the parole system in state prisons. I think Martha Stewart did that.
I’m no fan of Vick but this seems a bit extreme. There allot of other criminals I’d rather see put away or become the focus of the governments full effort than some jack ass that hung a few filthy pit bulls.

I was listening on the radio today and I guess the judge took into consideration his busted piss test during deliberations and some of the evidence that was in conflict with his assertion that he had nothing to do with the execution of the animals and he bumped the charges to an 18-24 months possible sentence. And then the judge went for the high-end.

I feel conflicting emotions on this one. First off, I think that a good deal of the "I FUCKING HATE MIKE VIKE!!!111" sentiment people voice whenever this comes up is stupid because it overlooks almost every bad thing done by anyone to a human being, ever. People tend to go to one extreme or another when it comes to pro athletes and off the field stuff, and this is no different. When someone dies (see: Sean Taylor) everyone gets all "this is sooooo sad. T&P to the family because I'm sure it helps them. this is more important than any other death that happens everyday because this person is awesome at football." and the hagiography starts regardless if the guy was actually a dick or not. When an athlete does something stupid and awful like this people then go "omg hes evil, he is the most evil person ever. i hate him and he should be cut up into little pieces and fed to dogs at the peta shelters." People kill people every day. Dogs pale in comparison to that. That isn't to justify either but if you're going to freak out at one athlete for a particular crime and give t&p because another dies you damn well better feel the same passion any time any average joe gets killed or is discovered to be eating puppies. That said, fuck Vick. He was an arrogant douche bag. Threw his life away. Stupid mother fucker, sad, but he's got to serve the punishment now.
