was this the guy who asked MAngini the last question? Someone like really got in his face for some weird reason at the PC and flat out said something like: "This week is over next week is the patriots, you need to score more points to have any shot next week." And Mangini said "Thanks." and just walked away lol. Was that him?
haha, dont know but it was pretty funny, there is no answer to that other than, yep, dude, you are right...that reporter was a bit of a douche
yeah I was laughing my ass off. Dude said it like it was a command. There was a guy last week or 2 weeks ago who flipped out and started whining to the rest of the reporters "he's not answering the questions!" Sounded like the same guy.
...wait, you name says that you want the Jets to draft McFadden, right? Why do you want Matt Ryan? He would get destroyed behind our line also.
Clemens has hardly come in and taken the league by storm but with the WR situation lately it's kind of hard to tell what you've got with him. Brad Smith and McCareins are garbage and don't belong on the roster and in some cases they've been getting starter snaps with Cotchery and Coles banged up. And alot of the time when Clemens "takes a sack" there's absolutely nothing open anywhere on the field. The Jets are a really bad team and that makes it hard to evaluate alot of positions, especially ones with guys that don't have any prior experience.
"Dire circumstances"? He has a good Rb, good weapons to throw to, the OL is decent(alot of the sacks he is taking are from slow decision makig), the D is playing well now and there is no pressure to win since we are done. he is in the perfect situation to be able to progress but he is not. It's way too early to give up on him but it's a bad sign he keeps making the same mistakes each week.
Admitting that Clemens in not playing well is not the same as giving up on the guy. The problem isn't so much Clemens as much as it is the level of expectation of those watching him play. Love him or hate him, he's our QB this season and probably next. Pressures off this week. Nobody expects a win at NE, and the defense will likely be the target of any negative press. I honestly feel bad for Clemens at this week though. If he couldn't score against the Browns what the hell is gonna happen in NE? That will be twice this year that most of the country will get to watch the Jets get slaughtered.
There are very few posts that you make where I question your intelligence. This is one of them. If you see anything other than a terrible offensive line out there then you do not know NFL football. Period.
Can you, other fans, media, NFL, god, sit through another season like this one? KC will have the benefit of a weak schedule next year, but yesterday against the worst defense in the league, he did not show much. Another season like this, which is quite possible given KC's experience factor, will probably mean the end of the Mangini era, and the next 5 years of sucking begin yet again. Going to be one hell of an off-season, make or break, for the NYJ.
Well said... at the end of the day going back to Chad (as much as I like him) makes no sense at this point. We have made a decsion on future of that position, we need to stand by it...If we go back to Chad, we will not know if we have our QB of the future and in the long run that would be more damaging then possible getting a couple of wins from CP. A poster on this thread said (paraphrasing) Chad has roven or shown he is done. I disagree with that, I think the Jets have shown that they are done with him and have decided to go in another direction. Let's just hope that at some point that direction is up!
Truth be told, I have no idea how I feel about Clemens at this point. I think he has potential, but he's not showing improvement. The line is so bad I don't even have a sufficient adjective to describe it. The running game is poor, at best. And Thomas Jones is proving to be a bigger disappointment than Clemens. The guy can't ever shake his first contact. The only two WRs we have that can catch are playing on crutches. And the playcalling is puzzling, and not in a "trick the defense" sort of way. Clemens needs another year. Honestly, it looks like we'll be picking high again in '09 anyway, so if we need a QB, we can draft him then. Next year is a wash before it starts.
This is a rebuilding season. The Cs has to draft players that fit Kellen's skillset and he is also learning the game via a baptism by fire and a weak O-line. Kellen will show improvement sometime next year. Rebuilding takes about a year not three games.
Just be glad the Jets didn't pay $4 million for David Carr to suck out loud like the Panthers did. Dude gets happy feet if he hears someone behind him at a urinal!
