Why not just make him the QB coach & that would take care of the all salary cap issues since coaches salaries are not part of the salary cap?

Possible locations for Chad Pennington in 2008:

-Kansas City - sure it makes sense to reunite with Herm - if he's not fired!

-Chicago - if they can get the defense back up to par, they can win with a control QB...

other than those two, he would be a backup in places like Minnesota - where they might want a veteran behind Tavarus Jackson - or in Tennesse - same deal.

In the end I see Pennington Coaching rather than Announcing...

I just don't see Chicago making a run at Chad. They've always gone for arm strength over the other qualities in a QB because of how hard it is to throw the ball in Chicago and Green Bay in December.

That's why they've stuck with Grossman as long as they have. He's not a good decision-making QB but he has a very strong arm.

Maybe 2 years removed from his serious knee operation Dante C would be a good option for Chicago as for sure he will not be in Oak next year

Judging by Herms trading skills when he was our coach we should get a first rounder for Chad.

I mean the guy gave up a first rounder for Doug Jolley after all.

T.Jackson is the man in Minny and Alex Smith is making to much ($$$$green) to be the back-up....imho

I'm more inclined into believing the Chiefs would be the perfect fit for him.

For the last time, why does anyone care where he ends up? He is worthless to us and everyday his salary eats away at our cap space.

Campbell went down for the Deadskins last night and the injury is supposedly a "dislocated kneecap"... sounds like a pretty ugly rehab. Grossman was knocked out of the game too.

This could ratchet up the demand for a QB like Penny (or at least ratchet up Chad's agent's rhetoric), so I think this could possibly hurt Tannenbaum's chances of keeping Chad here at a decent price and getting him off the idea of trying to be a starter somewhere else.

Of course, with all the QBs going down, it also might increase the offers, so if somebody like the Redskins want to give us their 2nd round pick, hey... let's talk!

Ignorance? The guy can't play anymore, and if you can't see that, then you're "ignorant".

What's the point of paying millions to a backup that's best trait as a QB now is throwing pick 6's?

He can still play. You are just in denial. If you can't figure out his contribution on the sidelines then I am not sure why you involve yourself in the discussion at all.

We're paying a guy millions of dollars to relay signals to our future at QB?

It also doesn't take a genius to figure out that Chad will either take a pay cut worthy of his new position or will end up looking for other offers (or vice versa).

To sell Tix, all lank has to do is Win.

10 games a year in a dome, (Where Chads numbers are even better than his career stats), you could probably pencil them in for 7 wins a year off the bat.

Plus, Chad grew up in Knowxville, 200 miles away, and his clean cut image is what Atl needs after the Vick fiasco.

Isn't Atlanta still one of the teams rumored to have Martin's interest? If true that could only help bring him to Atlanta as well.
