Well boys, was it only a matter of time.....lol, this seams like it could really happen, seeing as KC doesnt really have a QB...... thoughts? 02:41PM - Pennington To Chiefs For 5th-Rounder? Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 by Gary Grund Peter King of SI.com believes the Kansas City Chiefs should throw the Jets a fifth-round draft choice for QB Chad Pennington. With the Chiefs quarterback situation a ?constant carousel,? Pennington makes sense for the Chiefs. ?I can?t help but agree with this. Based on Pennington?s age and huge contract, it will be tough to find anybody willing to give up something. However, the Jets should take the first offer they can get for Pennington, because he?s likely to be cut regardless. Pennington and Herm?s relationship with one-another is too much to overlook and say that a deal like this couldn?t happen. Not to mention, I wouldn?t mind the Chiefs tossing us another second day pick. The last one worked out well with Leon Washington? ::rofl: rofl2:
That's good news if it materializes. Pennington still has value, and hopefully we can pull of a 4th or 5th for him. I wish him the best, but our future has landed in NY.
I don't know the contract repercussions......but I say KEEP Chad.......at the very least, we'd have the best backup in the league
Eventually. He'll be a great announcer. He still has a few more years to flounder as a player though. I hope he does well wherever he ends up.
no Chad isn't even close to the best backup in the league. I'd take, Huard, McCown, Volek, johnson, rodgers, etc. not to mention the guys starting this year who might lose jobs to incoming young guys. PLUS Chad was overpayed as a starter nevermind the same money as a backup Edit: I even like ferrotte better as a backup next year. maybe shockley, collins,
chad is a good backup...but he wont be here next season which means we will also be looking for a backup qb the chiefs...or a team looking for a stop gap should be more than willing to part with a 5th round pick for chad he is a smart leader...who wins with a solid team high cap numbers are managable for teams when the player is traded for...bc when it comes time to eventually cut them down the line there is no cap hit we paid that bum barlow over 8 mil...and given the higher cap, teams can manage him in the higher cap is leading to more trades rather than players getting cut....mcnair and green are examples from the past 2 seasons...and chad will be the example this season
You would want to pay that kind of money to a backup QB? LOL. Rebuilding be damned, keep Chad because redneckjet says so.
considering mcnair went for a 4th and green went for a 5th...a 3rd shouldn't happen unless the redskins suddenly are in the mix a 3rd might be the starting price, but only because a 5th is what is actually going to be accepted
Not to Kansas City for a 5th rounder. They got Herm cheap in terms of compensation. A 3rd rounder, or somewhere else for a 4th or 5th.
And we drafter Blair Thomas.....Better yet, Ferg with a 4th overall. Remember, a bird in the hand.........
Wait what??? We got SOMETHING for Herm. That was more than we should have gotten. I don't follow how you can think that wasn't a major heist getting a draft pick for a below average coach.
