I'm pretty sure that the per game averages swing in Harris' favor. Now you can argue Willis should have leg up because he got into the lineup sooner, and I honestly haven't seen him play much and he may warrant the title on performance alone. But he'd have to be something special to top Harris.
It's close between Willis and Harris... Willis has the edge, reasonably, in tackles... 128 for Willis, 91 for Harris... Both have forced one fumble Harris has 3 sacks, to Willis' 1 sack, and Harris also has a fumble recovered.... We have 4 games left.. If Harris can keep pace with Willis as far as tackles go, and make 2 or 3 more big plays (sacks, INTs, FF, FR, whatever) I think he could take the award... Even though he's a Jet, he DOES get a reasonable amount of press... He gets nominated for DROW almost every week....
Rhodes is under contract until 2009 when he becomes a free agent. His salary for 2007 + 2008 was basically mid $400k per year. The FO & CS will probably make an attempt to lock him up before 2008 starts in order to avoid a bidding war in 2009 when he becomes a free agent.
Are you talking about the same Mangini that thought a car salesman out of ther NFL for 6 years could play DE for us? That Mangini? He may have been in his knack job when he was with Cleveland.
I wish we had a coach who was the OC of the San Diego Chargers last year... he would have to be better than Mangini.
I meant evaluating talent in the draft... He sucks at bringing in FAs, but, other than Schlegal, I can't think of one draft pick that hasn't worked out?
the tackle difference is even more pronounced in Willis' favor if you only count solos, he's been a beast. He had 17 solo tackles in EACH of the last 2 games. And he's doing it with a broken hand.
