    Why would we do that...again?

Two first round defensive players wouldn't be a problem, but we can sign a tackle and a guard in free agency.

We Stockpile on Defense and sign O-Lineman in Free-Agency. An other then that we need a Blazing reciever who can spread the field for coles and cotch and a hard hitting FB through free-agency aswell.

Even though were dropping down the draft order (though st. louis won today), its still a pretty deep defensive draft. I'd be open to the idea..

How about trading down for a first this year, a second this year and next year's first from a team in the 13-20 range?

The nice thing about getting next year's first out of a team is he can't get hurt next season and he provides enormous flexibility the following year.

I like building through the draft... but we do need to sign some big players its proven it helps. NE only got better when they made their signings and that seems to be the team we're trying to be. Dallas and TO seems to be working. Im not saying lets go sign everyone but boy would I love Suggs on the team

It took NE 5 years to start spending cash on big name free agents. It should take us about the same amount of time. Build through the draft and be smart.

I don't know that we'll get two first rounders should we have a high pick, but I do know that there is an utter dearth of quarterback talent in this draft and that this mediocre crop of passers will be highly overvalued. Combine that with McFadden and I think we have a real opportunity to build quality roster depth and add an impact player or two on both sides of the trenches.

They all do. As long as you dont want them in the same year.

How is it going to feel when NE picks Chris Long one or two spots ahead of us...

I have a feeling it could be Chris Long, Jake Long, Darren McFadden, Brian Brohm, or Dorsey... no matter who the Pats pick, everyone will freak out because we missed out on him.

New England is picking up Brohm, huh? That sounds likely if not definite.

I'd be okay with them picking up Brohm. He's not exactly Peyton Manning and he's going to sit for awhile anyway.

What I'd hate to see is for them to trade down, get a mid-first defensive lineman and another first next season out of the deal. That's their MO and it's a killer for the rest of the NFL.

It will feel great. I think they scout better than that.

The thing about Long is that everyone views him as this hybrid type who will be able to jump all over the place in a 3-4 defense. The fact of the matter is, at his current weight, he's going to have to bulk up to show that he's going to be able to hold at the point of attack in the NFL, or he's going to have to slim down and make a transition to linebacker/outside pass rusher. You're going to get one or the other.

I've found more to dislike about this kid. He's listed at 6-3. You might as well shave an inch or two off of that come official measurement time, and then you're really moving further and further from a guy who can occupy lineman in a 3-4 set.

I like your idea accept for the FB. FBs are not skill players and I wouldn't waste a pick on them. Instead, dump Barton and get another LB. But I like the other choices especially the speed burner (with height)

Tannenbaum already screwed himself over picking this stiff at left tackle at 4th overall. If he picks two offensive lineman again, guy needs to be fired.

I'll bet you right now that they don't. They will take a QB a little closer to home though

I just wonder how much we could get for Pennington and Vilma , either as a package or on there own with a draft pick trade.
Pennington still has value as a back up ( to us as well ) and would appeal to a number of other teams. Vilma's value is a little more complex though , its obvious that he has to have big bodies on the D line or play 4-3 which he excels at. Blatimore might be the perfect fit for him.

We could probably get the Skins' entire 2008 draft for our first rounder.

Why would they pick a QB when they have the one the best QBs ever and he probably has 6-8 solid years left in his career? They are going to upgrade their defense or get Brady even more weapons.

They aren't going to draft Brohm and sit him for 4 years like the Packers are doing with Aaron Rodgers.
