I would love to see the jets hire bill parcells as the head of scouting.the man has an awsome eye for talent.especially on the defensive side.look what he had done for dallas.watching the dallas defense take apart the jets offense.shows me that the man has what it takes to make an all-pro defense.

If Bill Parcell would scout for the Jets why not - there are a lot more unqualified scouts out there!!!

Yes, his keen eye brought us such wonderful first day draft picks like Dorian Boose, Rick Terry, Terry Day, Scott Frost, Terry Williams, David Loverne

Bring him back as a scout??? Hire him as the head coach!! Let him cook the meal and buy the groceries for it too. Let him do what he wants and pay him whatever he wants. This guy has built winning teams wherever he has gone. Can't say that about Little Bill up in NE.

That would be a total disaster.

I have no problem bringing Parcells back in some capacity, but he's not about to come back as a scout. Parcells' ego won't allow that.

Tannenbaum's not about to move and he's much too young to retire, but the GM position is probably the only position Parcells would want at this point. So it's a moot point, because I just don't see an opening for Bill at present.

How come? What about hiring him as the head coach?

I think what Abyzmul is referring to is, Parcell's is a control-freak. Bringing him back in any capacity except for a total-control postition is asking for complete havoc within the organization. His ego simply won't stand for other opinion. He's fine when calling all the shots, but when "decision by committee" enters the picture, Bill is outta there.

He's the reason we signed Kenyon Coleman to the big contract. That worked wonderful huh? No thanks. Love Bill but...

Parcells was never a scout and it showed right up until he got himself 4 1st rounders to redeem himself with. I'd love to see him bringing in personnel through the FA market but for some reason he whiffed on a lot of rookies. I think there are plenty of people out there far better suited than Parcells, and they will probably not command 7 digit salaries.

Yea and in the 3 years he was with the Jets he had 1 first round draft pick and drafted i think James Farrior ? and considering that was his only first round draft pick he ever had with the jets it was pretty good. In the later rounds he drafted guys like Jason Fabini and Randy Thomas some pretty good players.

"Pretty good" on a first round pick is not good enough. We need great.Tangini has done "pretty well" with their drafts so far.

Let's go back to the 1st round of 2000. Parcells had four chances to achieve greatness. With four picks, we ended up doing "pretty good". But none of the four turned out great, that's why we are well behind the Patriots these days.
