One bad game, and "D'brick is the biggest bust since kyle brady" and "Clemens is a bust and we should draft Matt Ryan" Give. me. a. ****ing. break. Both these players are VERY young. Both these players have shown that they have what it takes to be successful. D'brick shut down some of the best pass rushers in a row from week 2 until the Dallas game. Schoebel, the giants, taylor, suggs, etc etc. Clemens has shown presence in the pocket, and the ability to drive us down the field in the fourth quarter to win or tie a game against the ravens, redskins, and steelers (These things are what is hardest to develop and find in a QB). By the way, Clemens has faced four top 10 defenses. In his first ever four starts! One awful game by the offense as a whole, on two days rest, without our biggest offensive weapon, on the road, against the second best team in the league, and we need to fire the entire coaching staff. Yes, I am disappointed this year as well, but I can see that we have several young players set up to be the cornerstones of this franchise for years to come. The wins may not be there right now, but this team still plays hard every week, is VERY young, and is obviously moving in the right direction. Clemens, Mangold, Dbrick, Revis, Harris, Rhodes, Cotchery, Leon, all extremely talented and very young, all brought in or developed by our current staff. This staff is able to bring in and develop young talent that can make an instant impact, its hard to explain just how awesome and important that is for a rebuilding franchise. Finally, to those saying the team has lost faith in Mangini? Are you kidding me? There has been absolutely no evidence of that what-so-ever. The entire defensive unit played hard all game against the cowboys even though the game was "over". The offense simply got dominated at the trenches, not because they "gave up" but because the cowboys played and simple are better. Bottom line is if you don't play hard, you won't be a Jet next year, and that is the way it should be. Please shove the knee jerk doomsday reactions up your ***
Where exactly do you get off making sense? Please stop being logical and return to emotional instability at once!
You have to realize there are alot of people with the our players have to put up all pro numbers every game or they s**k every week attitude! They missed the fact that Clemens Played against The Ravens, Steelers, Cowboys and Redskins. Amazing!
I don't see your D'Brick take at all. Every game I watch the end opposite him gets around him once or twice, and his run blocking leaves a lot to be desired. On 3rd and 1, I never hear an annoucer or a fan near me say...."Here's where you run behind D'Brick". So you can sit there and say crass things to people that disagree with you, but there will also be a large group to tell you to take off the rose colored glasses when watching your team.
Rose colored glasses? Ok big guy, I'm not saying that we are great, Im even saying that we are good. We suck. All I am saying is that we have young talented players, that Dbrick and Clemens have shown that they have what it takes, and that it's not the end of the world.
D'Brick is on his way to bust status, he's not there yet, but his stock is falling. I've watched him on Tivo almost every game, and he is constantly beaten on pass downs (whether it's for a sack or not, pressure is evident). Also, his run blocking against defenders with size is horrid. In comparison, I watch a lot of Browns games, and Joe Thomas is the real deal. If you guys want to see what a real top 5 (draft pick) tackle looks like, then go watch a Browns game.
I watcch the Oline closer than anything else on the football field. I also am a MOD on this board and notice many trends. 1. Brick has progressed quite nicely at OT. AGAIN, he's never gonna be a great run blocker..but his pass blocking, which although can be inconsistent, for the most part has been top notch. I honestly dont know where some of you ccome up w/ this stuff that he's always getting beat on passing downs. He's given up a few sacks...but there have been games upon games, that he has NOT given up a sack..and when I watch..there is very little pressure coming from the RE. 2. Every 2 weeks, you guys go back and fourth about this guy. He's either a great young linemen along w/ nMangold or a complete utter failure and bust. Face it, he's a young linemen on a bad team. There are STILL gonna be growing pains. Even Joe Thomas who everyone loves to reference has struggled w/ holding penalties this season. It's part of being a young linemen...

D-Brick and Pro Bowl should never be in the same sentence. you make a good point about Clemens tho. I think a lot of times us Jets fans, myself included, fall under the trap of really wanting D'Brick to be good so we kind of brush aside his mistakes here and there, or exaggerate his pass blocking skills. Fact of the matter is if I had to judge him after two seasons (which is a little bit premature) he's fell well short of expectations and thats not good. Last year it was made that he was a rookie, this year that he's playing next to a bum, but next year there is NO excuses, he better be one of the better LT's in the league - 3 years is enough time. I really really hope with all we've invested in him thats hes not a smuck.
Please admit it. He is a bust, he sucks. The opposition does not stunt to Clarke, they stunt to Brick. Many of the sacks attributed to him are not the DE sliding to Clarke and or overloading that side because Brick has to cover for his man and Clarke's.................. face it he stinks.
Well, by your own admissions in this post, Brick is not a great run blocker, and an inconsistent pass blocker. So he's not great at either, yet the original poster has him in the pro bowl before the Dallas game. The pro bowl means you are great, or at least one of the best at your position. So, certainly you can see why people take offense with his post.
People do tend to get more upset and making stupid comments after a bad game but realistically D'Brick hasnt played as the 4th pick everybody thought he would he is still young tho and clemens DOESENT HAVE MORE THEN 2 SECONDS TOO THROW DA DAMN PIGSKIN !!!!
