Post anything...anything you can think of that makes you smile about the Jets for this year, or for the future....Absolutely NO NEGATIVITY in this thread, thats what all the other threads are for... I'll start: Darrelle Revis and David Harris look like they will be studs next year. Actually Harris looks like he is already there... :jets: :jets: :jets:
My turn. I truly believe that the offense has most of the pieces in place to be very good. I'm hopeful that the front office/ coaching staff are not in denial regarding the defense, and are going to be focused on righting the ship. Finally, although it's not nearly as much fun to watch, there is a certain "peace" that comes with the fact that your team isn't going to the playoffs. At this point, I'm watching individual players, and looking for positives to build on...including a high draft pick!
I wanted to mention Harris and Revis but that's already been done. D'Brick is looking like D'man. Leon Washington is lighting it up in the return game.
We're not as bad as our record. Jets have been in every single game, and have consistently fallen victim to a bad defensive scheme and mental mistakes rather than bad talent.
Revis and Harris look great and have a bright future. Clemens looks like the real deal, and Leon Washington is a stud.
I found a new bar in Tampa to watch them at; Peabodies. Best part is, its $10 all you can drink Bud Lights. Watching this pile of shit team just went from about 100 -150 per Sunday to about $40 with complete inebriation, food and tip.
Something positive would be that I think the front office has realized we overachieved while playing a weak schedule in 06. I doubt they will do any more foolish trade-ups on draft day, and will start stockpiling picks. Also, they likely have learned this year that: 1) Sutton is out of his league 2) Drob can't control the line of scrimmage. 3) Vilma is not a 3-4 LB. 4) Pennington does not have a college arm much less than a NFL arm 5) Drafting high character guys only like Schegel and passing on possible trades for character risks like Randy Moss isn't always the best plan. I hope they learned this--If they haven't, they have no one to blame but themselves.
alot of the young players this coaching staff has drafted are looking like they are or are going to be studs in this league, and Harris is playing like an animal (possible defensive rookie of the year?)
My highlights thus far..... 1) Opening day tailgate, seeing friends that we haven't seen since last years' Raiders game. 2) Wayne Chrebet Ceremony Thats it!
