ok for some reason i feel like i see a lot of similarities in these 2 guys. The way i saw kellen not on only yesterday but in college move out of the pocket, but wait to scaramble in order to wait for his recievers to set up downfield, reminds me just like ben roethlisberger, and i think it is a very key ingredient to be a successful qb in this league. i know its very early in his career, but does anyone else notice this special ability

there are some similarities--I think Kellen will be good for a long time, if they get him some protection.

I had a similar thought this morning after that rollout throw to Ward.
Kellen isn't as strong as him though, but he may be a little faster cause he's lighter.

How about we let the kid get a few more games under his belt before we make these comparisons? I see people here either annointing him, or throwing him under the bus already. I think he has alot of great attributes and has the potential to be a franchise QB. For all we know he could be the next Marino, or the next Ryan Leaf.

Lets not get our hopes either too high or too low yet. Sit back, watch him play a little more.

How bout you chill out and realize we are saying that we see some similarities between him and some other good qb's in the NFL.

I could say that Chad Pennington has similar leadership qualities as Tom Brady but that doesn't mean I think he IS Tom Brady.

I will safely say he is not going to be like Ryan Leaf. Clemens is simply not a jerk.
Maybe from an on field standpoint Clemens could prove to be nothing. (I don't think that will be the case, but I could be wrong.)

But he will not be like Leaf. Clemens is not a bad guy.

Kellen Clemens is a faster version of Drew Brees.

Merrill Hoge thought that Clemens would be a better pro than Leinart, Cutler, and Young before the draft. I hope he is a prophet.

the only similarity i see is that big ben and romo are pretty good at getting out of the pocket and letting the play develop downfield. so far from what we've seen, clemens is pretty good at doing that too.. which is a good quality that not a lot of qbs have.

an absolute brilliant observation!! i also noticed he walks and talks and chews gum like big ben also.

so he's mobil like a lot of other qb's, big deal! i think basically you really were trying to imply that kc is or will be as good as big ben, which he may someday be. just right now, we just don't know yet. too soon to tell one way or the other.

simple cure for whats ailing you is to get your hands off your sack while watching kc play and the euphora will pass!!!!

What's with the over the top aggressiveness? I wasn't attacking anyone. But Clemens is just starting out, expectations either way can damage the kid. And comparing him to Big Ben in any way puts expectations on him.

That doesn't mean we as can't evaluate him and what he does on the field. But it is way to early to start comparing him to other QBs, or even other QBs drafted in the same year. My point was let's try to stay objective, and let him get a few more games under his belt.

Yeah I read over my post later and realized it was way to aggressive... did not mean to attack you like that at all.

I just think it's not terrible to make some early comparisons... I figured based on his mobility and arm strength that his playing style is similar to Roethlisberger/Romo.
