Clemens, 42 attempts, 246 yards, 1 td. i havent watched the game yet(dvr), but sounds like chad played to me? I'm sure i'll see the positives on my own, but what where some of clemens negatives?(leave the "mangini being on the sidelines" comments out, i already know!)

They receivers dropped at least 100 yards worth of passes. It should have been 346 yards passing. The Kid played well against one of the best secondaries in the business.

There were a lot of drops... Additionally, a lot of Clemens' completions were to the sidelines, something Chad couldn't do... On top of that, most of his passes were to the WRs and TEs, as opposed to the RBs with Chad....

Don't forget, this was an excellent secondary Kellen was throwing against, and a pass rush that was doing everything it could to get Kellen hurt and out of the game....

In fact, of the four best defenses we have played this season, Kellen played against two of them, and came very close to winning both games....

His accuracy was not great. Overthrows and underthrows. Much of that is , I think, a result of not being on the same page with the recievers, which should only get better with practice and, especially, game experience.

Other than that, not much to complain about.

Clemens is not the answer. The only thing he is, is not Chad. Which is enough for some people.

Answer to finish out the season.

    Glen Foley part deux.

The same was said and followed Tom Brady as he progressed his first year taking starting snaps. It takes some time to get all the kinks out and Kellen is the answer. To base that statment on two starts is a little premature! It is possible he may not pan out , but I havent seen anything yet that would say he not capable of holding his starting job.

What makes you think he is Glenn Foley part deux? I don't see the comparison and think that the negative comparisons are just as ridiculous as the positive ones.

Why does he remind you of Glen Foley? There is not one part of his game that reminds me of Foley..

If people want to feel good about something, even though it makes no sense, that is their prerogative.

This team has no direction. A coach with no track record. A shit defense.

But a backup QB is gonna save the day. Everyone's favorite, that is cool. I don't see it. If he had any real long term talent and Mangini wasn't full of shit he would have pressed Chad for the starting job a lot sooner then this. We will be looking for a QB sooner then people here think. IMO

I bet he has great character. Because that is what wins football games, character.

I don't see anyone crowning him as the next John Elway anywhere. He's done fairly well in his first two NFL starts, give him a little time to progress. It sounds like your problem is that he's not Pennington.

Hey genius, Clemens wasn't drafted to be a backup QB, he was drafted to be the future of this franchise. He sat his first year to learn the ropes...now hes learning by playing....thus far, he has looked good, not great. But that is still a great sign for a team looking for their future QB

The problem is the coaching staff. They care more about "character" then winning ball games.

Where was the vertical game? Where was the arm strength? What he can really blast a 2 yard pass. Whoopee do.

I dont agree with this either. I think KC has some great promise from what I have seen thus far (which is very little) but his supporting cast will not allow him or any other QB to have much success.

D'Brick was drafted to anchor the line. How is that working out.

Mangini/Tanabuam greatest quality = Not Herm and Bradway.
Clemens greatest quality = Not Chad

hard to express a vertical game with our starting WR out and against the Skins....I hear that Taylor guy has 5 INTs already or something to that extent...

you clearly missed the Leon drop...that was an easy 6 that would have went 60+

(posted in another thread, but more relevant here. I would add that if you didn't see a definite improvement in the play at the QB position yesterday then I am not sure anything any would write here would make you think differently.)

I don't think we saw a lot of downfield throws because the Redskins were trying to put a lot of pressure on the young QB (just like the Jets did against BUF). They were blitzing on a lot of the downs.

It certainly didn't help that the Jets, once again, abandoned the run. (who would have thought Kellen would huck it 39 times?!)

This also meant that the defense didn't need to worry about the run or even play action. (Notice how the double play action the first play of OT led to Cotchery getting free down the field.)

Throw on top of that the absence of Coles and you have all the reasons why the Jets did get to throw it deep.

(Not to mention the terrible miscues in the receiving game by Cotchery, Baker, Smith and Washington.)

Well since you asked nicely, how many games has Pennington missed due to injury that last 2 seasons so far? Clemens?

Compare that answer to the last 4 years...now face yourself in the mirror, and quickly look away in shame
