Except in the playoffs at Pitts, you play to kneel down and kick 2 field goals over 40 yards instead of getting closer.
It's oK. I get it. Namath wore pantyhose and you're kinda like him. Put the bottle down, look at KC's record right now, and shut up. Girlgini is a disaster. Maybe if he could get that flashing 12 on his VCR to display the correct time, he could fire up some of his own videotape and actually put us in a winning situation!
I believe Vilma's hurt, but, judging by how himself and Mangini have talked about it, I believe it's something he could play through, and Mangini, in yet another immature move, put him on IR in part due to some personal grudge, knowing he has a more than adequate backup on the roster.... Mangini is the only coach I've ever seen who, instead of simply benching players because of poor performance, deactivates them completely.... We saw that a couple weeks ago with Dyson and Baker, and that's not the only example....He's very immature when it comes to dealing with personnel.... He is, however, very good at drafting personnel....
You got that right. What were we supposed to do? Look the other way because we don't want to turn him in out of fear of "reprisal?" Screw that. Joe's dead wrong on this issue.
this kinda helped make some sense of the whole thing.. basically vilma says he doesnt know exactly when the injury occured, tried to play through it, and then didnt know if he needed surgery when he did the radio show. also denies ever thinking about requesting a trade, which i would expect him to say , but still.. http://www.newyorkjets.com/blog/posts/271-vilma-clears-up-some-injury-issues
1) I never said I believed the suspicion. Truth be told, I don't care whether it's true or not. All I know is we lost another talented player for the season. (But assuming the conspiracy is true, one would have to wonder about Miller's IR trip.) 2) I do believe Vilma is hurt. There's no reason to believe otherwise. The only thing in question is "how long has this been, and how long has the coaching staff known?" Those questions will never receive an answer as long as Vilma is playing under Mangini, and that's fine by me.
I think we'll need to wait for Vilma to retire 10 years from now, and write a book to find any of this out...
Mangini has been very dissapointing this season, he seems to lack matureity when dealing with player issues, and then ends up falling on his face, I was a huge Mangini supporter, and would still be even though the record sucks, I knew there would be growing pains. For me it is all of the weird things that are happening that made me lose respect for him. He will lose the team
Two things and I am done with this issue. 1.) If anyone believes the pats are winning because of the spygate thing, they are a fucking retard. Brady finally has weapons and the results are in, a great QB with with ok skill players can win consistently without huge #'s. However, a great QB with great skill players destroys. My god he got them a pubic hair away from the Super Bowl last year with walmart rejects as WR's. Brady scoring 5-7 TD's a game is not because he is pissed off about some stupid spy crap. It is because his offense is that much better than any defense he has faced this year. Nobody can stop that juggernaut. 2.) From everything I have gleaned, people in the know (People that know Vilma) say he is really hurt. It is in fact a serious injury. For the record, I do not know him personally at all.
Ummm Harris had more tackles in one game, than Vilma in 3. Putting him on IR saves face for the player, considering he hasnt payed well in this Defense at all...
I have considered myself a sunshiner for my years as a Jets fan, I guess my time has come, well actually no, I still look forward to seeing Clemens this weekend and I like what I am seeing out of many of the players, I also know the onfield product has been poor and that has been due to some holes and those will eventually be filled, but it is the off field Mangini pissing matches that have me worked up, I do not like the Vilma situation at all, Baker being benched after his comments, Kendall fiasco, if this stuff keeps coming up then we can say good bye to any potential FAs as well as keeping some of our own. This reflects poorly on the organization. 2-14 or 14-2 I woudl support Mangini and find positives, I just do not like his player coach relations, I watched lots of good players leave the Calgary Flames through two seasons with Greg Gilbert and I do not want to see that with the Jets
Well, it's not like we don't have our fair share... I posted during the off season, that BB was going to do a run-n-shoot style thing up there this year. It only makes sense. If anything pissed him off, it was the rules changes instituted several years back to help Passing teams, after he spent all that effort building up a defense that could win championships. At some point more teams will try to exacerbate the ability of WR's to exploit the lack of DB play down the field. In this day and age, I can't believe that Teams EVER play less than 3 Wide, unless you are going to load up on TE's to punch it in.
This helps everyone. Not only what you point out but we get to keep his trade value high inspite of his play, which was clearly regressing.
I was out of town and only got to see the Pats game... Interesting that ONCE AGAIN, the Pats opponent at home had communications problems from the sky box to the sidelines.... How the hell does that happen???? The most sophisticated and state of the art stadium in the league and the Pats oppenents lose communications... Amazing.
