I totally agree...if I see Pennington throw one more 5 yard pass on third and ten and then watch Mangini punt I'll throw up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sad part here is how you guys are pinning all the losses Directly to Penny. Truth is if we had any heart in our defense we should of won more than half of those games! But our D couldn't stop Buffalo twice, Baltimore and Philly 3 horrible offenses and The Giants & Cincy games where won until they Folded! The we ask Chad to save our Defensive faux Pas by winning the games for us AFTER he got us into a winning position... Yet it's all his fault. I'm glad to see Clemens but all those losses are not on Chad's sholders..Not all of em.
I dont care what team it is if Clemens starts and throws 3 interceptions , he aint the real deal plain and simple!
Buffalo scored 17, We lost. Philly scored 16. We lost. Buffalo scored 13, we lost. McCariens had the drop that directly cost us the Baltimore game, and he also had a play earlier that should have gone for a TD, but was not directly his fault (1st qtr).... All in all the defense held those teams to beatable scores, with any decent quarterbacking.....
Exactly! How the Hell did they w/ a rookie QB and injuries? Yup, and moved the ball when they needed to. The fact was that our tackling has horrendous that game and all season. That falls on the D no matter how many they scored. Here, I can say is one that falls on Chad except that he had barely any time. Our O-line looked like shit....again... but It can go either way.. IMO- All of these games while they were 'winnable' still lacked a team effort and our Defense allowed these teams to dictate the game. Which is my point... the Team lost these games, not Chad. ....and what about the other games we lost? All on the Defense. To pin the game on 2 Drops? Sadly yeah we could won that game but See how convenient it is to blame someone else when Chad isn't the starter? So when He's in it's all his fault but when He's not then it's McCareins or someone else. I was just pointing out that it goes both ways and these losses are not 100% Chad's fault.
Holy shit, everyone complains that Clemens isn't starting, and now when he's declared the started, it's the wrong team to start against? Some people just cannot take one rebuilding season. Just let things play out, Clemens starting is the right decision.
I'm sorry, I just read the thread again and sisn't see anyone complaing about it. Where/ Who said that?
That just made me laugh out loud. Why anyone would complain about Clemens starting against Washington is beyond me. Most of us have been bitching about the wait and now it's over. There's a lot of things Mangini should have done different this year, and this is one of them, but the kid almost beat Baltimore in Baltimore, in pretty dramatic fashion no less. If he can play that way in Baltimore, he can probably play that way against the Skins in NY. I'm really just happy we'll finally get to see him play knowing that he's the starter. Mentally it should make a difference in his play. Whether it's a good or bad one we'll find out soon enough.
The idea that Mangini is setting up Clemens to fail is absurd. If Clemens fails Mangini will be fired, Clemens is the key piece to Tannenbuams and Mangini's rebuilding schedule, they have to make it work or they are done.
My point wasn't that Tui should have started. My point was that if Mangini was dead-set on believing that Clemens wasn't ready to play at the pro level, why stick him in against one of the league's top defenses? Clemens is ready, and has been. Mangini's reasons for waiting so long go far beyond thinking Clemens wasn't ready. That's my point.
The skins play in the B league. I have no problem staring him now. Yes I would have rather had seen him go against Buffalo instead but what can you do. no need to protect the guy any longer. He saw the Ravens and lived so the skins won't be any tougher.
