Bowl Game Question...Potentially stupid

    I was talking with some friends about bowl predictions, and one mentioned the possibility of a UCF vs USF rematch in the Papajohns.com Bowl... but then he said there might be a clause that prevents rematches in bowl games.

    So is there such a clause, and if so, how does it work?

    There is no such clause but it usually doesn't happen because the winner ends up in a different bowl.

    Maryland vs. West Virginia at the Gator Bowl in 2003 was a rematch and there was no rule preventing this from happening. If USF ends up 5th in the Big East and Central Florida gets invited there is nothing to prevent those two from playing again.
