Mangini grew the guts to pull Chad with 3:40 left in the fourth quarter. He should have pulled Chad and put Clemens in the prior possesion with 10:00 left. The team would have then rallied around him and a win was a possibility. Instead he puts Clemens in with 3:40 left down by 2 scores. It would have taken a miracle to comeback at that point.

I agree. Halftime or not at all.

He put Clemens in at 3:38 because he knew Chad had zero chance to bring the Jets back down 10 points at that time.

Of course Clemens had little chance either. It was just Chad had no chance.

it was just one more bad decision in a long series of bad decisions for Mangini.

Stupid call to put a young QB in to run a 2 minute offense when he hasnt played in months. Just let the starter finish it next time mangini...

The wrong time to pull Chad would be week 15. I have no problem how this played out, in fact, Chad had to hit rock bottom so the few critics left out there would have nothing left to say about the move.

By the time Washington rolls into town, no one will remember or care that Clemens was put in with 3 minutes left against the Bills.

Like so many previous Jet QBs before him, Chad goes out in a cloud of dust.

I agree, Chad should have never come back after week 2.

I really think Mangini has been hoping a Chad injury would resolve this for him. Of course I could be wrong, but a blindside hit in week 4 would have changed the Jets season dramatically by now, because nobody else could have found the number of ways to lose that Chad has.

Totally agree. We win this game if he puts him a in with 10 to go. He didn't have the option of a running game. It's tough to play like in the NFL.

I've said for weeks that I found Mangini's decision to keep going with Chad inexplicable, but I guess there is the explanation that he did not feel secure enough in the locker room to pull Chad before it was obvious to the entire world that he was done. Can't say I'm too thrilled about that mindset, but at least it is here now. There is no reason (barring injury) that Chad should see the field again this year, and probably ever as a Jet. There are 8 games to put all of the horrid play and playcalling behind them, and show that there is hope for 2008.

If the Jets lose every game from now on, but the playcalls stop being so asinine, Mangini has nothing to worry about, but if there are 8 more games of the nonsense we've been seeing for weeks on offense, he deserves to go (although I'm not saying that Woody would actually pull the trigger on that).

    Halftime was the time.

But this is why it has dragged on, this way.

Chad doesn't make enough maistakes, particularly early, when he can play safe, then the defense looks bad, and Chad tosses a pick late to seal the deal.

He's been teasing the decision for 4 weeks now.

They never should have let him come out against Buffalo, in the firstgame.

The only problem being there is not an Offesnive Coordinator waiting in the wings, so If the playcalling does not improve, we could be another lost season
    away from competitiveness...

    Yesterday was another perfect example.

We run the ball well in the first half...So...instead of getting BIGGER on the OLine and continuing to pound it, they get crazy.....

I think the play calling is going to get worse. I really want to see what this team can do under center. We did a good job under center running the ball and PA in the 1st half, but it was all SG after that. If Shotty thinks Chad can make the throws and puts the game on Chad's shoulders I only see it getting worse with Kellen. But on the other hand, maybe they finally committ to the run because of the "Rookie" QB.

They have to see what the Rookie Qb has. The season is over and the team needs to find out if we will use our top 5 pick on a Qb. At this point it makes no diff if we finish 8-8 or 6-10!

Or 1-15. I really hope it doesn't come to that, but how many of you have confidence in Clemens?

Whataver, we can see Kellen this week against a decent defense.....and good corners.....so expect short passing....
