He won't put up offensive numbers like A-Rod though. Over at NYYFans, someone posted something very interesting that I didn't truly think of until now. The poster said something along the lines of how "The Yankees have won 26 World Series's without A-Rod. Hell, every team who has won the World Series won it without A-Rod".

I don't care who says what, but this is a blow to the Yankees... Anybody they replace him with, even if it is Lowell...To be the guy to replace somebody who has won 2 MVPs and the numbers he has put up... You just KNOW some Yankee fans are going to "He's not ARod." I'm mad he's gone...And ARod basically said, I give you 2 MVPs, and carry this team on my back this season and you still don't respect me..."FU". I can't blame him.

Another option I might like would be to sign Loretta to play 2B and move Cano over to 3rd. Otherwise just give Betemit the job, and hope Vech keeps playing the way he has so far in fall ball.
So I get home from today's debacle at The Meadowlands where I spent the afternoon cursing the f-ing Jets. I put on the World Series to complete my frustration to watch the Sox sweep. Then I hear A-Rod is opting out. Great. That's a lot of offense (albeit mostly non-clutch) to lose for the regular season. And the reason is all of the uncertainty surrounding the Yankees? Thank you, Randy Levine. Don't negotiate now for A-Rod. This is the first defection of what will likely be many under your new regime. I will think of you every time a Yankee pitcher is facing Papi, Manny and A-Rod in a row. Every time I see Alex hit one over the Green Monster, I will see your face. Hal and Hank, enjoy running the show. That's some great baseball man you have as your team president. You all suck.

this almost guarantees girardi as the new coach. personally id rather have the awesome miguel cabrera over ARod or Lowell and Girardi is a better coach then mattingly i think Arod will always be a pain for me...hes just not good under pressure because of all the criticism that goes with him there
What would it take to get Miguel Cabrera? Florida knows they can't resign him next year. I'm thinking we can trade Betances or Kennedy, along with Melky. Is it wishful thinking?
i dunno, but id give up melky for miguel i mean cabrera is a guy u build a team around. Look at what the marlins did in 05, they kicked our asses
