1.) TRICK PLAY handoff when we need two friggin yards and our BIG BACK has been pounding? Yea Eric, lets split Chad out wide, put Brad Smith in the game, and hand to little Leon... that makes boatloads of sense... 2.) WHY NOT RUN JONES MORE??? He was averaging 5 yards a carry... so we go AWAY from the run in the begining of the second half??? 3.) OK, its 3rd and 2ish on the 40, and we try to drop Chad back... when he doesn't get the completion, we PUNT... BEAUTIFUL... Eric the great know-it-all, DID YOU EVER THINK OF TAKING TWO SHOTS IN A ROW TO GET THE FIRST DOWN WITH YOUR BIG BRUSISING BACK??? Yes, thats right - how about a run on 3rd w/ TJ, and if he doesn't make it - smash it in there again... I'd rather take my chances that way... he's averaging FIVE FRIGGIN YARDS A CARRY!!! USE HIM!!! 4.) WHY THE HELL DID HE PUT KELLEN IN TODAY??? The only thing that did in the long run is put him in a situation where failure has the chance of messing with his confidence going forward... yea, great - stick the rookie QB in the game for a 2 minute drill after not playing for weeks... Its not like this game mattered at all... why didn't he just wait and start him next week? Now Kellen has "2" INTS on his mind that were accumulated while trying to dig himself out of a hole that Chad and Eric had already created... MAN IM STARTING TO HATE THIS COACH... Even the announcers were making these same comments throughout the game... PATHETIC!
i 100percent agree withn everything you just said, we are 1-6 fourth down from the 45 n we punt, and 5 plays later 85yrd td pass, just disgusting, clemens should of been brought in after the 2nd 3and out of the 2nd half, where did all the blitzing go in the 2nd half, from coaches play calling to the players execution is just sickening right now, never seen a worse jets team in my life
Our expensive Cb, Revis did a crap job af breaking up the long TD pass. IMO, Revis has had only a mediocre rookie season at best. We may have gotten burnt, but the jury is stillout. We will see. The Defense basically plpayed a lot better today. Our QB couldn't throw to save his butt. If Clemens doesn't start the rest of the season I'll be sick by Christmas - very sick. If we see Tui take over the duties 3 or 4 games from now; it is because the coaches have had enough of both QB's and we will be clearly going in new directions next year; which means another so-so year.
I think this game was the WORST tho w/ regards to his many idiotic calls... He really coached this game like a ball boy... At least the D stepped up...
Agree the offensive playcalling was a joke today - why the hell don't they just feed Jones the ball on every down? It's a hell of a lot more successful than letting Chad touch the ball...I was actually impressed with the defense though. Kellen shouldn't let those INTs faze him, if nothing this showed the lack of confidence left in Chad, and it's Kellen's ball from here forward... Of course had this been done a month ago we might still be playing meaningful football. The saddest part about today's loss though, it didn't even upset me - just typical Jets.
Actually, I'm sure Revis comes down with the pick if Elam didn't fucking wipe him out of the picture. Seriously, that kid does not look where the hell he's going. On the season as a whole, I've been impressed with Revis, though. He drew quite a bit of penalties, but most of them are complete bullshit calls that I bet wouldn't have been made on seasoned vets. He hasn't been perfect, but for a rookie who's learning on the job and missed out on TC, he's shown some great signs of being a good one.
What??? Revis made a great play on the ball and he got tackled by his own safety. Now he didn't bring it in and that is the final result, but he is rookie smart guy. Next year he make that play on the ball when he knows he'll bring it in or bat it down.
Also, as a side note... I wonder how long Laverneous is gonna keep singing Chad's praises if he gets hung out like that again... that hit was all on Chad...
I agree completely, Revis and Harris have both been HUGE bright spots this year. As far as Mangini goes he was atrocious today the OP hit the nail on the head so I won't repeat it. BUT... As long as he starts Clemens next year I won't be completely soured on him. He has drafted well IMO and had a great year last year, with that being said he needs a solid off-season this year. Mark my words, putting Clemens in the lineup will make a difference... On a side note, Shottenheimer is honestly getting on my nerves....
