Because since the ALDS ended Drew is hitting .406 with 8 RBI in 9 games. He's hitting .571 in the World Series so far and in 25 career games at Coors Field he's hit .368 with 2 HR and 18 RBI and a .467 OBP. Why lose all that defense when Drew is hitting just as well as Youkilis?
Yisman, where's the outrage over the lazy play by Holliday? I don't remember Manny being picked off in a World Series game.
No, it's lazy. All you have to do to not get picked off is watch the pitcher's back foot and dive back when it moves.
From what I've read, the Sox knew that Holliday liked to run on the first pitch in close games, and took advantage of his being overanxious in trying to get the Rockies going. By your statement, every runner who ever gets picked off by a righthanded pitcher is lazy, and that makes no sense to me at all. I would argue, in fact, that almost all such plays are due to not paying close enough attention, which is not laziness at all, but rather carelessness (which IMO is what happened to Holliday).
I was waiting for Manny's stupid helmet-flip to hurt him on daisuke's ground ball, it looked like atkins was played too far in. it was 2 outs. I would've had the infield back. 6-0 now, but I'm not counting the rockies out.
now that's just ridicilous. you want to keep lopez in the game. why would clint hurdle pinch hit for sullivan?
when it was 1st and 3rd and no one out, I went down and got my mother to come watch. she hasn't watched baseball in like 10 years. it worked.
