I have a funny feeling Vilma will end up with the Pats.

there no "counter-argument" when our HC sucks and we are seeing it more and more each week.

Sounds like Vilma is in Mangini's dog house, and much like Baker, has a "mysterious" injury that came out of nowhere.

How can anyone possibly think the Jets could not get a first for Vilma? Besides that fact that many teams could use a top 4-3 MLB, the Jets got a first round pick for a less talented player with more mileage, injury issues, and attitude problems in John Abraham, so you can guarantee we'd get a first, I'll even say a mid first-round pick for Vilma.

Which stars went for low value that weren't considered character risks? And which of them did not have blockbuster contracts? It's all situational.

Yes, because we would get to watch another Jets cast off go somewhere else and have a nice career.

Maybe if Pennington calls Mangini a douchbag, he will come down with a mysterious injury...I say do it!

I just think it bears mentioning that John Abraham was THE most talented defensive player the jets have had this decade. More talented than Vilma, more talented than his draft day counterpart, Shaun Ellis. I will not argue with the injury or attitude issues, but seriously, this guy was an impact player when he was on the field. How many impact guys do we have now? Zero.

Believe me, I think we got tremendous value in the Abe trade... but I think people tend to forget that the guy was a beast when he was here, and healthy.

I was thinking the same thing when I read his post....please name all the stars that went for 6th round picks.

Huge contract or no contract..."stars" do not get traded for 6th round picks. Perhaps every blue moon.

Vilma came out and hit a home run out of college...but has never shown he is a game changer. He WAS a very good 4-3 linebacker (with barely any tackles for losses)..and has shown to be a below average 3-4 linebacker.

He isnt a star...and probably would never get us anything better then a 2nd round pick..and that pick would be soley on his first two years and nothing since. Every year his worth probably goes down a round. Perhaps you could have gotten a first after his first 2 seasons....I would be shocked with a second...probably a third.

Good...the point of the post is that we now have a coach that tells us nothing....after having a coach that told us if a player had a bad night sleep.

I hated the first coach...and now the second one is not only confusing me but is getting on my nerves already.

Im a Torre, Parcells, Landry kind of guy. Tell me what the hell you need to and shut the hell up. Be direct...not evasive...but dont tell me too much (Herm).

Heard on the radio the MRI was taken on Monday so it was already known then that there was a problem. Tired of Mangini making everything into a state secret.

The way the Jets are playing right now on defense I think George Constanza could get on the field for them no problem.
