I'm speculating about 5-7 wins this year, depending entirely on the play of Kellen Clemens. That'll put us about around 10 or 15 in the draft.

First round, we pick up Howie Long's kid. High character, good citizen, smart leader-type and a football pedigree (it's more important than you think). He plays angry and he plays 3-4 defensive end for Virginia.

Second round, (please god let this happen) we nab Michael Oher. Watch an Ole Miss game- they're opponents don't rush anyone on the left. They shift the whole D-line to dodge this guy! Also, for anyone looking for a GREAT football book, read "The Blind Side" by Michael Lewis. This kid Oher had a fascinating life and despite his official transcripts, he is a high character dude. He plays nice and angry- he once blocked a defensive end about thity yards off the playing field. Oher said he was tired of the guy's trash talk and wanted to put him back on the bus. (I'm not lying- read the book.)

That's all I can really suggest, because priority #1 after these two positions becomes Nose Tackle. I just don't see any good Nose Tackles ready to come into the NFL, do you? So lets pick up some linebackers, hopefully some who'll know how to blitz, and some corners and safties late. Maybe get lucky. Those first two dudes are locks, though.

priority number one is NT, it is the cornerstone of the 3-4 defense, i dont even think we can have a fair assesment of our d until a space-eating NT is put in place, i also wouldnt mind going after a fs in the later rounds

There are no good DTs in the early rds of the draft.

yep, i read the article in the times about oher. fascinating story. i believe he said something to the effect of "he needed to go home" about that kid was talking trash. seems like he'll be a solid nfl lineman.

glenn dorsey, sedrick ellis and franklin okam are all good and will be top 15

but again, undersized for the 3-4

3-4 NT's are tough to find

Watch this video on Michael Oher. No, not really a video for those of you scouting, but a pretty remarkable story. I might just pick this book up.

Priority number one is a John Abraham clone, if that actually exists. Without a sack machine, our defense will remain awful.

Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for a book for my flight to NY to see the game this Sunday. From first impression I would love to see him as a Jet.

    Wrong forum dude.

If we are going to stick with 3-4 , trade Vilma for another pick OR established 3-4 MLB , who? I don't know.
I'm happy for DRob to play NT and get two decent ends. Ellis and Coleman just aren't good enough.
I would see what we have in Mosley and Hicks. Mosley had an excellent pre-season and looked dangerous on a number of occasions.

Chris Long may be a top 3 pick. No way he lasts until 10.

I think we will be in the top three so I'm fine with that.

I think chris long is a very good talent but i just dont like the fact that if we get him, it will probbably be too high.We need more picks so if there any way we can Long and another player like Groves id love thta cause they are bvoth beasts. But if we cant do that do thta id still want to trade down and get someone like Dre Moore and still get Groves instead.
