Shirley is a better fit at NT than Okam IMHO

Red Bryant is another good name. BJ Raji would be a nice pick, assuming he decides school isn't for him ;)

We don't need to take a running back high. Simply put, we need to get Clemens in there, see how the ability to throw the ball downfield effects the running game, and address the OT/DT position or add a playmaker in our front seven. This is, quite obviously, not Bryan Thomas. Maybe we an add a Karlos Dansby in free agency, but if not, we need to look into providing our scheme the correct juice to function properly.

We're not going to draft two tackles in the first five picks in a span of 3 years, but good try.

Good post and nice stat! But if this McFadden guy is anything like the beast that is Adrian Peterson, he'll be hard to pass up.

We will not take a RB in the First, and the fact that we trade down would assure everyone of that fact. We take either Frank Okam, a Speed Rusher , or Another First Round CB. The second two choses we can once again trade back and pick up with a good player or two.

assuming we are picking somewhere in the top 10, either by staying in our original spot or moving down slightly, which of the following is the best 3-4 fit for our D? Long, Campbell, or Harvey? I haven't seen any of these guys play, so I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight.

We have Jones and Washington..that is not the issue. Dyson and Barret are both embarrasing..we need another corner back and some pass rushers..

NFL cuts time between picks in draft's first, second rounds
    Associated Press
    Updated: October 23, 2007, 12:47 PM ET

PHILADELPHIA -- The NFL on Tuesday cut from 15 minutes to 10 the time between picks in the first round of its draft after a 2007 record round of 6 hours and 8 minutes. It also moved the starting time of the draft from noon ET to 3 p.m. and limited the first day to two rounds instead of three.

"We believe this will make for a more streamlined and efficient draft," commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement issued during the league owners meetings.

The change also applied to the second round, which will go from 10 minutes to seven between choices for next year's draft, which will be held April 26-27 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.In recent years, teams have often used most of the 15 minutes in the first round, entertaining trade offers or making them. The time between picks will stay at five minutes for the last five rounds, which will take place on Sunday. That session will start at 10 a.m. instead of 11. Both draft days will be televised by ESPN and the NFL Network.

This is bullshit...it takes away teams ability to strategize and replaces it with yet another money-making circus. I bet ESPN was behind this. This an NBA type move if you ask me...the draft should be done behind closed doors...it's not for entertainment purposes.

Got to take Mcfadden. The guy maybe the next LT, you don't pass on that talent, specially with the game breaking talent this team has..zero.

My dream is to trade back & grab Long, and then use that value to trade up and grab Okam.

Alright we need Mike Tice to get hired by some team so we can do the TiceTest (TM) on the new timing.

Agreed. Trading down twice and still landing Chris Long really would be a dream scenario IMO.

He's too small to be a NT... maybe a DRob sized DT, but definately not a NT.

Obviously, a moron has compiled this stuff.

Ok. Jets trading down not once but twice. What do they get in return? It better be 2nd round pick.

And even with the trade-down, Jets will NOT pick an RB in 1st round. If they are trading down twice, they better grab 2 1st day picks for it. They'd do well to go for:

1st rd: NT (Better not trade down if they can't grab NT prospect)

2nd rd: OLB (Pass-rusher)/RG or RT

3rd rd: CB or MLB/ RT or RG (Whichever they didn't pick)

This would make my day - but then who'd so desperately trade up next draft?

Why would we go QB when we're two drafts removed from taking Clemens in the second round? that's nowhere near enough time to evaluate a guy, especially one who now has the potential of starting only 9 games since he's been drafted.

How many playoff appearences has LT had? Taking a running back at this stage would be wasting the first two years of his career atleast. We need to build on the o-line before anyone in our backfield has a chance of making a difference. McFadden looks good in college but how's he going to do when he's saying, "high" to NFL caliber defenders in the backfield behind our swiss-cheese o-line?

What we need in this draft are impact players on the d-line and o-line. That's how you build a franchise. You don't do it by bringing big name rookies into crappy, crappy systems which offer no room for them to grow. Drafting McFadden might sell a few extra jerseys his rookie season but that's about all the impact he'll have on the game without improving our o-line long-term.

    BTW, Kiper is an idot.
