No not every week , and not every play. Just that play. Oh yeah and Chad was lucky to throw a perfect pass to Coles . hahahah Wow
chad needs to be benched, but i still think he could have been a great one if he didnt fuck up his arm, i was watchin highlights of him when he was at marshall and he was zippin it all over, what could have been....
The play calling didnt call for Chad to hit the dumpoff nearly every time after we had a 13 point cushion...that was all him:shit: take a look at my sig...even I have had enough
Maybe but with specifically the 2 min drill that got way too predictable even for Chad, every single one of his costly INTs are from the exact same throw, whether from the left or right side the defender jumping the out route to Coles, even the announcer called the play before the INT
I think every team has a copy of the Jets playbook. It seems like everybody knows exactly what play we're calling. McCarebear must have left a copy on the plane.
Not a copy of the play book, just a tried and true system to combat what we need to do to function offensively with Chad at the helm. The worst part about it, is its so simple its scary.
Exactly. When your QB can't throw a tight 30 yarder, your play selection drastically decreases. In turn, you wind up running variations of the same 10 plays over and over, week after week. Put one CB tight on Coles, one tight on Cotch, stuff the box with 8, and let a safety roam free looking for a floater, and it makes a defensive coordinator take a week off to play golf after watching the "highlight" reel.
Close but not quite. Play the safety deep....Play the corners off.....If you play the corners tight, coles or cotchery goes by you, and chad can throw a 30 yard floater. If you taped the last game, watch the second half One safety deep and the corners giving cushion, keeping everything infront of them AAMOF, on the Coles TD play, Jerricho runs diagonally right at the safety, freezing him, and the corner that had Cotchery was just a tad too late getting over to provide the deep help. Because they are willing to concded the two outside blocks, you get 8 up front, and thats why the OL is having a hard time.
The worst part about it, was I didnt realise how obvious it was, till Takeo Spikes spilled the beans after the Philly game..............
He basically said that he keeps a notebook on all the teams/players etc that he faces, and what they've been doing, since he was in Buffalo is sitting a safety deep, and then forcing the checkdown routes. I dont recall if it was also Spikes that pointed out that when Jones lines up 7 yards deep, they invariably run the ball. And I watched VERY closely sunday, and sure enough, the Safety was backed up, the corners off about 5, and the only place Chad has the zip to go, is the short route. The first play from scrimmage penalized Cincy for playing it, but once they adjusted for the cross confusing the safety, that was that. Going one step further it looks like once CP finds the comfort zone then they start pinching the corners more and more until they pick him off. I tried to diagram it a bit here.... http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=674797&postcount=68
Okay, so YOU know about this, but Coach Mangini doesn't? Not that you shouldn't know something like this, but why the hell doesn't Mangini? Every week I grow more depressed...
It was actually one of the idiot CBS announcers a few weeks ago. They put up a stat that the Jets run the ball 95% of the time when Jones lines up 7 yards deep. I hope the Jets have changed that up since then, since being outed on national TV as morons has to be pretty embarassing.
I was embarassed, because I rewatch the game to take notes like that and didnt realise till Spikes pointed it out, though I suspect that might be why we got more over the top camera angles on Sunday. Oh, they OBVIOUSLY know, hence the first play from scrimmage against Cincy.
Look I know the D is not good. However, the offense is ridiculously bad. It is predictable and boring and for the most part can not get anything done short of a 50 play 30 yard drive. The defense gets gassed at the end of games because of the TOP discrepancy. It is one thing that begets another. Again, is the play calling the problem or who is under center. Probably a mixture of both. I know one thing Schottenheimer can not do many of the things they were able to last year. With a better offense to take the pressure off the defense, things will be better. The Jets than will be able to hide some of the short comings on defense because the Offense will be on the field longer. In turn the lengthening of the field will get some of the opposing players out of the box and decrease pressure on the O-line and thereby making the run game better. Personally it is a cycle that is clearly the result of better QB play. If this team had a QB that can back the D up, it opens up so much more for the Jets that it is not even funny. I am sure someone will go ahead and say," but the defense sucks". Look nobody is going to confuse this defense for the 85 Bears, however they do need some freaking help. The last 4 weeks they have made the big stop at least x2 late in the game 3 times and gave the O a chance to fuck the game up royally. There is some big play ability on the D.
 of course it does! It's just hard keeping track of all the logic deniers, that contend the defense is awful ONLY for reasons unrelated to the other side of the ball....
