How else can you explain this team going 2-11 on third down conversions?

You can close your eyes with a list of names of everyone in the Jets organization in front of you, point your finger to a name on the list and they are to blame. Everyone is to blame.

Seriously, if the defense wasn't so bad Chad wouldn't be throwing INT's like clockwork in the 4th quarter.

Put a real NT in there and Chad would suddenly start firing 90mph bullets at his receivers and the DB's would be just out of luck.

If the defense wasn't so bad Chad wouldn't be sweating like a stuck pig and ashen and pale on those 4th quarter drives with that deer in the headlights look that used to be reserved for very strong defenses that gave him no margin for error.

If the defense wasn't so bad the two TD drives that he can direct in a good game or the one drive in other games would be enough to win a bunch of games. Of course this one is a bit more likely than the other propositions above but it also serves to point out that Chad hasn't been winning games all along, he's just been not losing them.

    Now, he's losing them.

I bet during practice sessions, Chad tears up the jets defense.

Jets defense way more of a problem then chads play

and the coaching staff is a problem. There is too much talent on this team to be 1-6.

Penalties, a bad punt and a botched snap killed us, not sure we could blame Chad for any of that.

Well, no team has given up more points that the Jets, and they are middle of the pack in scoring. I want Clemens to start, but it's worth mentioning.

I cant really blame Chad for the entire loosing affair. The defense cant stop anyone. Run after run and then a play action with a receiver 5 yards away from any defensive player on the field. It became pretty pedestrian out there for Palmer. But for the third time we have a pick ran back for the game clincher. The defense is garbage but I'm sorry to all the chad Lovers so is the Quarter back!

The defense cannot hold a lead and cannot defend against the run. Obviously that puts pressure on the QB to pass more and ruins our running game. Again, Chad is not blameless, but if the D does its job, there is less excitement at the end of the game. Yes, Chad has folded under pressure, but the D put that pressure on him.

That pick, I watched it about 10 times in a row before I erased the game. That was the worst throw of Chads career, and that's saying something. The Db did make contact with Coles before the ball got there though and they did call it pretty tight on Revis.

Give me a break. Chad had 1 interception after the freaking defense let a 3rd string RB look like walter payton. He played very well yesterday and you all know it. I to think Clemens should start but Chads performance yesterday has nothing to do with that. We need to see what we have in Clemens. But Chad did not lose his job over yesterdays game.

Don't know but your thread title is more accurate to show that the Bengals were 7-10 on 3rd down conversions while letting a 3rd down back look like a pro bowler

He was not good yesterday; take off the blinders. With the exception of one pass ? he continues to throw to his check downs all day long. If not for YAC he would have been something like 14 of 16 for 23 yards.

Once again he only managed to score three points in the second half (hail Mary doesn?t count) which left a defense that for the most part held its own while the offense was doing ANYTHING on the field to get pounded on?and oh yeah ? once AGAIN threw a game ending interception.

I hear a lot of people bitching about the play calling ? well those that are ? please enlighten me as to why under Chad?s third coordinator the play calling appears to be identical? Because worthless is not executing the play called ? he is dumping the ball to his check down time and time again.

I agree with you and here are the breakdowns for our 3rd downs.
I can completely see how it is Chad's fault.
    Lets see,

3rd and 1 1st quarter, TJ no gain, picked up 1st down on 4th and 1.
3rd and 6 at 6 yard line. After 2 straight runs on first and second down, Penny gets one chance on a pass only down to score, incomplete to Coles.
3rd and 2 after 2 runs on first and second down. Should have made this one.
3rd and 12 after 5 yard penalty, low percenatage 3rd down, got pressured, but had a little more time than he thought. Barely over threw Coles.
    3rd and 5 scramble for 2 yards
3rd and 8, bad snap by Mangold
3rd and 6, sack not time
3rd and 11, game was already over Chad throws pick.
