You have got to be kidding me. Are you saying you can only play terrific football when your job is on the line? Are you just buying yourself a few more games of noodle arm throwing?

We're winning and I still do not feel confident in this team.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. Now Mangini will never bench him.

no, he is saying he can only play well against REALLY poor teams. only SLIGHTLY poor teams, like the Bills or Eagles, he plays poorly as usual. and against good teams, fuggetaboutit.

The Bengals are having their best rushing game of the season. It only took them playing against one of the worst run defenses in the league. I guess they're a great running team now as well.

Pennington also disappeared in this 2nd half. Yes, he's not playing terrible, but where did the deep throws go? We're back to conservative once we get the lead. I can't put this on the OC. I just think Chad, with the lead, plays scared.

Penny's numbers don't accurately portray how he's actually playing. Aside from Coles breaking free on two inept plays by the Cincy defense, Chad hasn't done much. Cincy is daring him to beat them long, and aside from that first throw to Coles, we haven't thrown it deep.

You have to give Pennington credit for every single yard on that first TD. To not do so is UNFAIR. You have to be fair. Coles made the 2nd TD, but the first one was mostly Chad.

Penny made the right read and throw on the first TD, but not one Bengal was even in the screen on that play. Coles completely broke the ankles of the CB, and there was no other DB in position to make a play or tackle.

Big deal---one TD against a terrible secondary. Three other trips to the red zone and he comes away with three each time. Against an awful D. Oops --Cotchery just stole a TD. So Coles and Cotchery stole a couple. I guess that means CP stays. The guy can't do it. Game on the line, against a shit defense, we saw 3 and out, fumble, and INT

Totally agree, but the unreasonable Pennington-homers will inevitably point to his 3-1 TD/INT ratio in support of him this week...

He made one TD.... He effectively pissed away chances at others

He had one good pass because he had no pressure and got his whole body into the throw. Nothing has changed.

The only way Chad is not the starting QB for the rest of the year is if he tears another rotator cuff.

Mangini is that stubborn, and this franchise is that much of an accursed joke.

Chad had one good throw. One. How about that interception? My dead grandmother could have not only predicted the location of the throw but dug out of the ground to intercept it. I used to love Chad, but I can no longer take the choice of dink or dunk or interception. Just put Kellen in now and get it over with. We may lose, but at least we will make the defenses work to beat us!

Or maybe its just that Chad is the best QB on the team and Mangini doesn't believe that putting in a comparably inferior QB is the smart thing to do.

    Maybe?
