Offensive Line Prospects

  1. If he declares and performs well in the combine he will def. go top 3. I cant see us using a top 10 pick on an RT. However, if he slips, and like you said, we trade down...we'd have the best young OT tandem possibly in NFL history.

I think a solid RT would make our o-line very good very quick. I hope we get the top RT prospect out there.

I'd rather sign someone that is proven. Drafting a big body like Oher couldn't hurt much though...unless we took him too high.

I just think that if we're in the top 5, we need to take a playmaker this time...not an o-lineman. We need someone to score some TDs LONG - Darren McFadden or DeSean Jackson.

    My Bold Prediction:
Jake Long will take a draft day dive from where he is now. Just a hunch but I bet this potential #1 overall pick (right now) is more likely to last into the late teens and twenties.

  5. No he wont go #1 overall and likely wont go top 5. He's not an elite overall prospect. He's an average pass blocker and projects as an RT in the NFL.

Why would we do that when the Jets just signed Kirk Barton from OSU in an unprecedented move.

You mean the Jets are going to draft that Kirk Barton if he comes out????

I think the Oline needs a Vet to help settle the line.

Didn't you read my post? They already signed him and forfeited three years worth of draft picks in penalties. It was worth it though.

Can somebody tell me something about Barry Richardson, the OT from Clemson.
His size looks good (6'7 320 lbs)

I tried to find a scouting report on him since I saw a mock draft with the Jets taking him in the 1 round, but couldn't find one.

    No stupid! That can't happen!

... what happened was he was doing so well at OSU this year, the Jets just signed him straight out of college to a 5 year deal. Like Rambo said, we have to give up 3 years of first round draft picks though in order to get him. But it will definitely improve our offensive line.
