According to team stats on espn.com:

Jets linebackers Hobson, Barton, Thomas and Vilma: combined 2 tackles for loss

Anthony Schlegel: 3 tackles for loss

Could this season get any worse?

Sounds about right. I don't think I've ever seen our linebacker on the other side of the line of scrimmage

Maybe if we offer them Vilma and Harris, they will send up Schlegal back

It's no secret our entire line is undersized. They get shoved all over hell. Really pathetic. Nothing is going to happen until we address more beef on the D-line.

He got every single one of those tackles for loss against the horrendous Kansas City Chiefs. Let's not go crazy. No one ever said Schlegel couldn't play up the middle...it's the lateral quickness and the utter inability to play the pass that he completely and utterly lacks.

You forgot the most important stat:

Wild Boars Killed-Anthony Schlegel: 25 kills.
Wild Boars Killed-Hobson, Vilma, Barton, Harris: 0 kills.

    Need I say more?

This stat can be expained rationally, the bengals blitz a lot, a lot more than the Jets, with as much blitzing as they do I'm not surprise Schlegel has 3 tackles for loss. However their defense is still really, really bad. Blitzing is the only way they can counter their lack of personnel. The Jets still have a better run defense than the Bengals by far.

You mean even the widely heralded and highly acclaimed David harris has no tackles for losses either??

Among other defensive issues, they arent being coached to play downhill in this scheme. The lack of aggression is a killer.

Have you seen how bad the Bengals defense is? Also, with a 3-4 defense, no matter how good it is, there will not many tackles for loss because it is a system which you don't penetrate.

    Not if your line sucks....

Take a look at Pittsburgh over the last few years though, and New England... Teams with aggressive linebackers and dominant DLs usually make plenty of plays in the backfield in the 3-4

Actually, a remember a stat after last season that 3 of the bottom 5 teams as far as tackles for loss were 3-4 teams. The Jets, Pats, and Chargers were all near the bottom. I think we were tied with NE actually.

Doesn't New England play a 3-4? Their linebackers have more than twice as many tackles for loss as ours does. WE SUCK

i guess this fact shows that we need to get rid of vilma, or maybe he should gain the weight difference, and lose all of his mobility.....then he might be productive?

The Jets don't have a true nose tackle in there either, without one constantly taking two offensive linemen to contain him, the penetration from the linebackers wont be consistent and will suffer.
