I believe Dorsey is another DROB.......

Heck, if we have the 12th pick lets trade all our picks and grab DROB II.

In reality... They need to decide if ANY of these DT's are a 3-4 NT and then go after that player as if their careers depended on it.... If they have the #5 pick and there are no NT's in that range, trade down and make sure you get the NT somewhere.

Mangini needs to sell his soul, his 1st born and his house to make sure he gets a NT or else he'll be a ball boy again in 2 years.

I like Frank Okam personally, but I don't see us beng position to draft the guy.

I thought he was a mid to late first round player?

If this is true, we will not get the chance to draft him.

I have no idea who Shirley is.

If we ended up with the 12th pick I actually might be content with just staying there and taking Okam.

Hey I started an Okam thread in the draft forum weeks back - Add to it whatever you know about him....

The Key is making sure he's a 3-4 NT......

Coax Mike Ditka back into the league. Trade the pick for his entire draft.

To address two issues raised here:

Dorsey is not a 3-4 NT.

You don't "ease a RB into the league" by sitting him behind two other backs for 3 years while paying him top 5 money.

I think it all depends on how Clemens plays.

If he showes glimpses, I take McFadden.

    If he doesn't, I take Brohm/Woodson.

Maybe if I'm feeling ambitious, I take DeSean Jackson

    1) Draft McFadden if TJ doesnt have a year that is over 1000 yards. Trade TJ, use Leon as 3rd down back, KR, PR.

    2) Draft Brohm if Clemens plays 6 or more games, and shows regression or no potential.

If neither occurs, trade down for two 1st rounders, Draft Frank Okam (texas) and Harry Douglas ( louisville)

If both occur, roll the dice ( Just Kidding) draft whichever position was worse...Clemens or Jones.

  9. IF..

    1. McFadden is available at our pick..we have to bite the bullet and take him. He's too good of a prospect.

    2. If McFadden isnt there...trade down and take the BPA. I would LOVE to pair Brick w/ Mike Oher from ole Miss.

McFadden is the consensus #1 pick. We need to lose the rest of our games and hope somebody else wins a couple to have a chance at him. Even if we do we will probably take Long which won't be so bad anyway.

Depends who picks first. Is Steven Jackson losing his job??? Is Marshawn Lynch, or Reggie Bush going to??? Probably not. Ronnie Brown, maybe he could lose his starting job. But the way things are going we'll be close to the Number one anyway.

Ronnie Brown is 3rd in the league in rushing and averaging 5.2 yards a carry for a team thats 0-6. I can't imagine the Phins will be looking to replace him anytime soon.

That has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. We got Clement and Clarke off the street and they still stink. Atlanta has 3/5s of its line made up of people off the street and UDFA, how's that working out for them. Championship teams have elite Olines. If you think you can get good Olinemen "at your local supermarket" you have zero football knowledge and have never played the game on any level.

Why do you think Drob is a 3-4 end? The guy is too short for DT/DE...Have you ever seen him bat down a pass...If we could get a mid round pick for that $60M headache I'd take it.

What about NE or Indy?? two of the top OLs in football with one first round OLineman between them. Point is, you can find OL throughout the draft, we already spent two first round picks on the OL, no need to spend another one.

  18. How many passes have you seen Ellis, Olshansky, Seymour, or Warren bat down? From the games I've watched, not many.

You don't judge 3-4 DE's solely on height and ability to bat down passes. Now it is true that height can be important to play the position, b/c you essentially have to have the ability to cover 2 gaps..one of which stretches all the way to the sideline(obviously having height and weight helps). But it's not everything. Height aside, D rob has a ton of quickness for that spot, and obviously has the bulk to hold up in the running game..I've been saying since day one of the Mangini era..that's the spot he should be playing. I believe he'd be very good there.

Now if you wanna talk about his salary and his play at NT...I'm willing to agree w. some of the criticism...but he truly does make a good fit at DE in this scheme.

RB is the least of the teams concearns. granted a big time playmaker is a sexy pick, but we need to address needs over the splashy flashy pick.

that kid out of LSU is a monster, and fills a huge need position for the defense. dorsey or red are the kind of lineman we need. i think we need to go DL the OL....the BPA at each spot is what ill be happy with.

unless we get some kind of moster deal to move down i dont think thats what the team needs. the FO needs to make a big splash with a FA signing, and draft need over anything.

i can see the need for the OLB/pass rusher...but i think a DT and a big time offensive guard/tackle are the draft picks we need to pursue.

THERE ARE NO 3-4 NTs AVAILABLE IN THIS YEAR'S DRAFT...SO GIVE IT UP NOW!

TO TOP THAT OFF, THERE ARE NONE IN FREE AGENCY EITHER!

What are we going to do? Dunno...that's what Tangini gets paid for.
