San Diego has acquired wide receiver Chris Chambers from the Miami Dolphins for what it believed a second-round draft choice, FOXSports.com has learned.

Chambers confirmed the trade in an email to FOXSports, but declined further comment until speaking with Dolphins coach Cam Cameron and general manager Randy Mueller.

Chambers has 31 catches for 415 yards with no touchdowns this season.

Does this mean Ginn starts in Miami now?

    A second round pick too.

Very surprising move. I think this is a good move for the Chargers, getting the big-time receiver that they so badly need for what will probably be a late second rounder.

    I wouldn't trade a 2nd rounder for Chambers, personally. he's extremely overrated.

Chambers is a top 10 receiver. He has just always played without a NFL caliber QB.

I was searching for a bigger more definitive adjective and came to the conclusion that he is among the most over rated players in the NFL. He sucks. He is just a little bit more than J-Mac.

This is a great trade for the Dolphins. A second round pick for him, they must feel like the Titans 4 years ago.

FYP Chambers sucks. You ever watch him play or is it your usual ill informed post?

All of you guys think that Chambers is "overrated" and "bad" ONLY because he played for the Dolphins...if he played anywhere else, with a REAL QB, he'd put up pretty big numbers.

He's better than any of the receivers on our team. I think the Dolphins are very stupid for trading away one of the two good players they have on their offense. (Ronnie Brown being the other)

    I agree.

I don't know why people think Chris Chambers is a big time WR. He simply isn't. It isn't because of the QB situation. He simply isn't a top 20 receiver.

A 2nd rounder for him is Miami robbing SD blind.

no comparison. Ronnie Brown is a great player. Chambers isn't.

And in the same breath you claim if he only had a good QB....Well, if JCo and coles had a good QB they would be light years better...

I liked him at Wisconsin, but there was a red flag when he dropped a pass which should have been an easy touchdown at the end of a key game.

He has gone on to be a drops machine on the NFL level. Very sloppy player.

Mr. Electric you really think Chambers is better than either Coles or Cotchery?

Other than a Jet game here or there have you ever watched him play?

Do you know how many drops he has in the last couple of years?

Do you know what percentage of balls he fails to go after?

Do you know how many times he gets alligator arms because he is afraid to get hit?

Do you know why Wes Welker with the same QB sitch was looked at as a better WR in Miami?

    Ditto for M. Booker?

    Let me answer for you:

He sucks. He is no good, is not tough. He dropped the most balls out of any WR last year. He is not clutch when the going gets tough he disappears. M. Booker and W. Welker were looked upon more highly than Chambers. I find it incomprehensible how you can opine on a player you know absolutely nothing about.

I just wanted to add every radio host I am listening to in Miami absolutely loves this trade. The funny thing is they wish they can do the same for Z. Thomas and J. Taylor.

BTW they all know Chambers is horrible.

naturally zach thomas, but I doubt anybody would be willing to trade much of anything for him.

taylor has been the difficult one, but most Miami fans I know are in favor of trading him now while he has value.

if they can get a 2nd for freaking chambers, they should be able to do well for taylor.
